This family-friendly city hotel is strategically located in the heart of Tuscany allowing guests to reach splendid destinations such as Florence, Siena, Pisa, Lucca, Arezzo, Livorno and lots of other beautiful spots in less than an hour's drive, which is what makes Tuscany one of the best known holiday spots in the world. Guests will find shops, restaurants, bars, nightlife, and bus and train stations within a 5-minute walk of the business hotel and the coast and Abetone ski area are a 45 to 55-minute drive away.

Facility

2 junior suites, 2 single rooms and 86 double rooms are located on 4 storeys and can be reached by lift. Multilingual staff (English, German, French) at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out. Amenities include a cloakroom, a baggage storage service and a safe. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. The hotel has wheelchair-accessible facilities. A fireplace creates a cosy atmosphere. There are a number of shops as well. Guests of the hotel can enjoy various recreational facilities, including the garden, during their stay. Rooms

    Good value for money. Good location. Good size of the rooms. I stayed just one night, so, I can not tell a lot about the hotel. But, when I come back to Montecatini, I return for the same hotel. This is a good point.

    The outstanding feature of this hotel is the helpfulness of the staff - particularly the reception staff. Ryan Air lost my wife's bag in a flight from Cork. They gave her great help in monitoring its return. We had booked a ticket to the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, but because of a national strike, we did not chance going. The reception staff went to great trouble to seek a refund - which we got. The one serious drawback was that the European adaptors we brought did not work in the round, 3-pin plug connectors. We were given a working adaptor, but we had to take turns using it for our iphones/ipads.

    The good: Staff was friendly. Several blocks from downtown but 30 minute walk to funicular, so keep in mind if walking far is an issue. Bedding was clean and no bugs noticed, although comforter has seen better days. The bad: The bed and pillows are hard, the bathroom door wouldn’t open all the way as it drug on the floor and was broken, the shower is SMALL (and I am NOT a big person!), and there was mold on the bathroom ceiling, but even worse was the mold in the shower grout and on the emergency pull. Hallway carpet is filthy and walls need painted badly. The elevators were slow, but stairs are available. One evening meal eaten in the restaurant was not good, but breakfast was ok. We were with a large tour group who had to stay here for a week and very few, if any were pleased. Definitely would not stay here again.

    First experience; poor checkin; staff were unhelpful and certainly not forthcoming with hotel information with regard to wifi, facilities etc.. The room was old and dated, with the curtains ripped and falling apart. They only provided one miserable bar of soap. There was no drinking water, we later found out you had to go down to reception to purchase bottles! We arrived late, so it would have been good to be told this upon arrival! If you wanted basic shampoo and body wash this had to be purchased at reception for extra costs. We had mosquitoes in the room, with my husband getting quite a few bites! He spent the night having them buzz around his head!! I just made sure my body was fully covered by the sheets! Breakfast was not bad, but basic cheap bread and stale cereal. On a plus side it is located next to a town with a couple of good eating places.The journey by car and train to Florence town centre took us 2 hours approx.
