Love holidays not on you Nelly

    rating19 Aug 2025

We were put into wrong room on check in, had paid £240 for upgrade to superior room but loveholidays hadn’t informed the hotel. The hotel did move us but it wasn’t what I would consider superior. We had damp towels delivered by staff which confused us. The room was dirty with damp mould in the bathroom and the place just had an awful smell to it. The TV did not work, neither did the air conditioning which had wires sticking out. Light fittings were loose, the mini bar consisted of a broken fridge that only had a warm open bottle of water in it. The room was full of mosquito’s that just kept appearing out of nowhere despite the doors being closed. The location of the hotel was remote so escaping these issues were only possible if you drive. The public areas were dirty with dangerous exposed wires. We had to eat dinner in the resteraunt as there were no local shops, pubs, hotels, bars or cafes due to the hotel being in the middle of Industrial estate. Whilst eating they were spraying cans of mosquito killer that caused me to have a nosebleed. We were warned by staff not to go walking at night as area was not safe. The bus stopped at 8.30pm so there was no public transport. This hotel is 16km from Naples and not in Naples so Taxi’s cost double for driving out of area €60 one way!! Due to my partner’s asthma we were not prepared to stay in a mouldy room . Love holidays were Zero help and offered no help or support . We left after one night and lost £660 with little chance of refund. Plus the cost of having to find other accommodation .

    Worst Hotel Experience EVER

    rating12 Jun 2025

Worst Hotel Experience EverThe only reason that I have put a one star review, is because there isn’t an opportunity for zero stars, because this hotel doesn’t deserve any of them. The staff were horrendous and the rooms are even worse somehow. This is my story on this hotel. My family was on vacation in Naples and decided to go to this hotel because the reviews seemed decent and for good price. However the reality was the exact opposite. We had arrived from an 8 hour drive at 4AM and we were all exhausted and simply hoped to get some rest. From the moment that we arrived there seemed to be a negative energy from the man at the front desk , and there was a big issue to get into the parking lot. However it was so late at night we ignored it. Once we were inside, the man in reception gave us our room, and I asked for an extra pillow. However he said that it would take 5 minutes because he was “busy” at 4 in the morning. He never came with the pillows after multiple reminders. Instantly when we got inside the room we heard a loud gushing noise coming from the bathroom. It turns out that our toilet was not flushing properly. This had probably been going on since when the previous guests left and no one seemed to care. We called the hotel reception and the man’s response was to just not use the toilet for the whole night. We thought this was ridiculous and told him that we wanted to change rooms. Eventually he moved us into a new room and we thought that it was all finally over. However it only got much worse.Once we got into our new room we felt that the whole room was very hot. That’s when we realized that the Air Conditioning was not working at all. This was extremely frustrating for our family but it was so late at night that we tried to ignore it and just shower and go to sleep. However when I got out of the shower I noticed a red stain on the floor. It was blood from previous guests. Even after everything finding this was shocking, because it seemed like the only thing the cleaning crew did was make the bed. I took photos and videos of this which are attached below, and planned to show them to reception in the morning and then leave, because I found this disgraceful. To top things off however, when I was going to bed I saw yet another blood stain on the bed. It was getting ridiculous at this point. I was not about to pay over $100 a night to sleep on someone else’s blood. I called reception once again and once the man came, he seemed more concerned about not waking up MY son than the fact that his cleaning team had been so incompetent to leave this much of a mess. When I woke the rest of my family up, they were equally disgusted by the quality of the room. We all agreed to leave that same night. The worst part is that while we were leaving, the man didn’t even apologize for the horrendous night, and instead had the audacity to insist that we should pay for the “night” that we had. I instantly contacted my travel agency, and they told me that I didn’t have to pay anything, which was greatly appreciate by my family. We left the hotel at around six in the morning. Keep in mind that this all happened in the span of two hours, so I can’t imagine what else we would have found if we stayed the three days we were supposed to. This has easily been the worst traveling experience I have had with my family ever. Please don’t believe other reviews because they are lies. If you were thinking about going to this hotel, please don’t, as there are many other places that are cheaper, and better.

    For business travellers, not holidaymakers!

    rating21 Oct 2023

Firstly I should start by making it clear we weren't booked in at this hotel. We were due to be at the neighbouring hotel, The Best Western, but this was closed due to 'issues with the hot water', and since this is it's 'sister hotel' the manager waited outside for our arrival and re-directed us here. The American Hotel is dated (although they seem to have renovated some of their rooms), with no pool, no tea/coffee facilities or vending machines, and worst of all, no atmosphere. The restaurant is open for breakfast (a basic range that doesn't change from day to day) and from seven pm for dinner but the food is okay at best and contains some defrosted elements, while the bar is usually closed. The place is like a ghost town, with few staff and very few other holidaymakers. The hotel's one saving grace is that they have decent free WiFi. The area in which it sits is industrial to say the least - it is one long road lined with car showrooms, workshops and engineering factories. The beach is unreachable despite claims that it is not far away, and the only places of refuge are a nightclub over the road (not open during the day, not most nights) and a 'bar' a little way down the street. The 'bar' seems okay, but is more of a cafe with food on offer, bottled beer only, and as it seems to serve the  workers of the nearby motor-related businesses it definitely doesn't scream 'holiday', and despite google saying it opens on Sundays it didn't. If you intend to break out from here be warned - the hotel doesn't organise or advertise excursions, and due to a strange cultural quirk, tickets for the local buses can only be purchased immediately before you travel from a 'tabbacheria', none of which are within reasonable walking distance of the hotel. Your options are limited to long-distance walking (assuming you have studied the route) or taxis to the nearest metro (which don't come cheap - we paid 18 euros for a 5 minute journey). If you wish to travel through to Naples expect to pay in the region of 60 euros each way. The 502 bus schedule is okay on weekdays and sketchy at weekends, and the bus stop is directly outside the Best Western Hotel but you'll still have the issue of how to purchase your ticket in the first place. Overall, a stressful experience!
