    Awful place

    rating14 Jun 2025

Booked the Superior Triple Room after looking at pics as 3 of us were travelling, we specifically wanted a lift as one adult with back problems & one recently had hip operation....the room they gave us was in no way suitable...single bed downstairs was as hard as the floor, the double bed up some awful metal stairs was noisy each time someone moved in bed, the ceiling was too low even for our shorter friend, unable to stand up or get changed at all!! We were promised tea/coffee making facilities, we found one small ramikin dish, one spoon in kitchen area, no kettle to be seen either! No hot water for shower at all...when we complained the manager told us they didn't have room we showed him pics of & offered us a DOUBLE room instead....what use is that for 3 of us? Getting in & out of building is another farce, you all have to leave together as only one set keys which we eventually found in key boxes, this wasn't explained to us at all, also advertised a communal room but no key fit into that door! It's situated in a grim part of Naples with one cafe bar outside, area did not feel safe. All in all, a horrible place that should be reported to trading standards & we will be contacting Booking.Com to sort it out....was so awful we left a day early to go to Rome...do not bother staying here, you will get NOTHING of what you paid for...FALSE ADVERTISING!!!! Find somewhere near Pompei, much nicer!

refused to return the money when canceling the reservation

    rating29 Jul 2021

We planned a trip to Italy from Ukaine, through the site *tickets.ua* booked and paid for accommodation in this hotel. The site indicated the possibility of free cancellation - it suited us, because we were not sure that 100% of the trip will take place. As a result, circumstances changed and we could not be physically present at this hotel - the reservation on the site was not canceled, we contacted the hotel - the administrator refused to return the money, stating that the payment for hotel accommodation is the cost of cancellation (on the site specified free cancellation). We will not contact this hotel anymore.

    Honeymoon. They stole my iPhone.

    rating19 Apr 2018

I realized I’d left my iPhone in the room just as the door closed behind us. It was 5am and the hotel was unstaffed at this hour. We had left the room keys in the room, as instructed, as we were checking out and headed home to the States...and the door was self locking. I called the hotel from London during layover and was assured they would mail my iPhone home. They never did. I called many times over many months and begged. I had hundreds of honeymoon pics on there, from six countries, and they were not backed up onto the cloud. So screw this hotel. NARtresort, Responsabile relazioni con la clientela at B&B Art Suite Principe Umberto, responded to this review Dear, nobody of our staff stolen your phone Mrs Greg .....as we had shown you in our videocamera 24h active and checked by the police . Eventhere we hope that you had learned during this longtime to be more sincere, it will help you to alleviate a lot for the loss of your pictures . Sure we are going to screw , guest as you.Regards GRML.P.

    Disaster in Naples

    rating12 Aug 2016

I booked this place (I can not call it a hotel), although its name is Art Hotel Principe Umberto trough a travel agency. Everything in the name of the so mentioned "hotel" is deceiving. First, it's not "art" and you can see this from the pictures I have uploaded. It's not a hotel as well, as there is not a reception... It consists of different apartments in different buildings, that are situated near the Cantral Railway Station. More than this, the physical address of the hotel, which is declared in different reservation systems, including booking is not true. They have stated 35 Piazza Principe Umbero, and have marked their location close to the seafront street, close to Municipio (Municipality) metro station, but their "head quarter" is located at least 7 km. far from there, close to the Railway Station and their physical address in 35 Piazza di Mercato...Honestly, when I didn't find the address I though that I have been tricked. I found the place with a taxi - it turned out tat some 7-5 years ago Piazza di Principe Umberto was renamed to Piazza di Maercato...But arriving at the address there was no hotel, just a building. The doorman said that Art Hotel was there, but this didn't make me happy, because the building looked like no one lives there. She didn't speak English, so she called on the phone and I was explained that there is a "sbagliato", which means that something is wrong. I had to wait approximately 2 hours. After that I was taken to another apartment in the same area. Now, something about the area - The Central Railway Station or Piazza di Garibaldi is centrally located, close to the old city center, as I was told by my agent. But this is also the most dangerous area in Naples, full of immigrants and famous with different unpleasant incidents. I was feeling unsafe and didn't go out after 20 p.m., which more or less broke my vacation. The apartment was awful - one of the windows was stick with black folio, as the curtain was too small. There were free standing нот isolated cables, the hot plates of the cooker were not working, as the cooker was not connected with the gas system. Inside the cooker was very dirty. I shared one apartment with 2 other guests, and this didin't make me feel safe. The front door of the apartment didn't lock. There was also a problem with the hot water...I had no connection with the owners of the apartment.

    A nightmare in naples

    rating25 Jun 2016

We booked the Art Suite principe umberto through a Travel Agency as Bed and Breakfast for 5 nights. The red haired receptionist was very friendly and helpfull and definitely is the jewel of the B&B!The description of the B&B stated that the Art Suite is located near the main train station and is near the historic center of naples. Actually all of that is true, but arriving there we found that the neibourhood is the worst you find in Naples. Despite that, the Breakfast, which was promised and part of the contract did not exist. We were told to get breakfast at the bar around the corner. The room was moldy, the refrigerator was not working and moldy, both bedside lamps were broken and not plugged in. THe shower was moldy too and the bathroom fittings were loosely stuck to the wall and fell down when we took the towel.Luckily the free Wifi was working, so we were able to lookup and book another Hotel.
