Rip off hotel. Do not stay here.

    rating20 May 2026

This is one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in. DO NOT STAY HERE.My room was dark and dingey. I had booked a double superior room. It was far from it. I had to share a balcony with the person in the next room. The doors to the balcony were angled so we could actually see into each other's room. The staff made me hand my key in every time I wanted to go but didn't ask other guests to do that. To top it all, they claimed that I had damaged the blanket on my bed and added €60 to my bill. I should have asked for a refund when i discovered how disgusting my mattress was. This is not a 4 star hotel. I've slept in better tents. I left and booked into a different place half way through my stay.

Nice hotel but not 4 star.

    rating03 May 2026

Just got back from a 5 night stay here, the hotel is basic and not a 4 star rated it’s a 3 star if that. The good is the position, the friendly staff and the cleanliness. The downside is the food is basic, the noise from the outside and the lift it works erratically and if it stops you have to go up or down some spiral metal steps. The location is really good with easy access to a lot of the sights we got room 210 which has a balcony which we would sit in at nights and people watch. If getting a taxi from the airport beware we asked for the predetermined fare but he wouldn’t accept it and demanded €45 which on the return trip organised by the hotel was €21.

Good Value in a Good Position

    rating28 Jan 2026

The hotel is in a very good location adjacent to the cathedral and close to lots of restaurants and bars as well as other sights such as the undergound tours. Our room was basic but clean with fresh towels every day. The shower was small and it was difficult to adjust the temperature.Breakfast was good with cold meats, cheese, fruit, cake, croissants etc. However, a major drawback which needs serious attention is the access to rooms on the first floor. The lift goes only to the second floor and you have to descend a metal, spiral staircase to the floor below OR you use the fire escape from the ground floor which was metal and very slippery due to the rain.I am adding to this review as we returned there last October and it was not as good as before. The same cake stayed out at breakfast for 4 days, getting staler each day and, as we left, we were asked for the tourist tax and were charged approximately 56 euros for two adults and my 11 year old granddaughter. I said that I thought children were exempt and was told that they weren`t. I couldn`t argue as we had a plane to catch but we were not given a receipt and I have since checked and we should not have been charged for a child. So please beware of this.

    Naples would stay again

    rating06 Oct 2025

I dont understand the negative reviews about this hotel.I agree that this hotel isnt 4 star, more like 3 .But what it lacks in that extra star ,makes up for in location right in the historic city centre.I cannot thank the lovely staff enough.Who went out of their way to make my stay pleasurableSo Wasseam, Valentino, and Susy who are the front desk clerks thankyou. Also i would like to thank the two cleaning ladies Cira and Anna who are always smiling even though they work long hours.Well done ladiesThere are also negative reviews about the state of repair.Yes the place could do with a little TLC. But the building is over 500 years old and must be a nightmare to mantain.I read one review about there being no English speaking TV . This is totally untrue as the TV is android which has 3 English channels (movies) youtube and multiple apps, although i did have to download and update.Maybe the reviewers technical knowledge isnt up to scratch, and why are they complaining when there is a city to exploreIt could be a recent addittion but there was wifi in my room. The only negative thing i can say is that the roof garden wasnt open and there isnt really a place to sit in the sun and chill. If i ever come back to Naples i would stay here againSo to all the staff at the Caravvaggio cheers
