A mixed but overall adequate experience, some of which is not the hotel's fault

    rating27 Mar 2026

This hotel had some pros and cons I think it’s important to know going in, although none of the cons were dealbreakers for me. I’m only writing this review to give others an idea of what to expect. This was a perfectly serviceable place to sleep, but I would probably not book again because I prefer slightly more comfort than this hotel offered on default. I did not communicate any of the minor issues I had with the staff or give them a chance to better accommodate me, so I don’t blame them for anything I list below as a negative. Pros:- in the Chiaia neighborhood on a pedestrian only street – but, be aware taxis won’t be able to drop you off directly in front of the hotel- fantastic food within walking distance- delicious breakfast buffet in hotel- The staff was helpful and friendly- Fantastic pizza to go or to stay within steps from the hotel at Pizzeria Donna Sofia a Chiaia- Nearby convenient taxi stands at Piazza del PlebiscitoCons:- Drunk groups of both adults and very young children roaming the street at night- Vespas/scooters/motorcycles etc zipping around the pedestrian street – however, this is something I expect in Italy- Streets covered in litter and vomit from the night before- Very bright blue light on the wall mounted thermostat that made sleeping difficult because it would turn on and off randomly- One pillow per bed, making sitting up against the hard headboard uncomfortable- Hard beds- Many flies coming in as soon as the window is open, which isn’t the hotel’s fault- Predatory restaurant nearby who takes advantage of tourists by overcharging and serving badly prepared food at Antica Taverna a Chiaia

    Overall a Good Choice

    rating26 Nov 2025

The Hotel itself has a wonderful location. I chose it for the location and the atmosphere. I was there for a week. The furniture and amenities are a bit tired. No electrical plugs unless you unplug a lamp or some such. The superior rooms are very noisy especially at night. It required my soundproof earplugs so I could sleep. It seems there is mostly an older italian clientele, which is great in my opinion. The breakfast staff is warm and helpful. As a woman travelling alone I felt very safe in the neighborhood. However, had I went missing I doubt anyone would have noticed. Not exactly what I expected in a small family type Hotel.

    OK central Naples hotel

    rating17 Sept 2025

A very central hotel in the old quarter of Naples, about a 20-minute walk from the port (hydrofoil terminal) and about a 45-minute walk from the train stationIt's in an old palace - you go through massive gates from the street, which are locked at night - it's on the first floor - there are stairs or a wonky small lift if you have luggageThere are a variety of rooms - our was a reasonable size but only had a window facing onto an enclosed well, which made it rather dark - that and the fact that we suffered from mosquitoes at night led to our rating of 4 starsThere was a modern bathroom, and the shower worked wellWe had a very simple, typical Italian breakfast, of cereal, fruits, bread, cheese, meat and various Italian sweet items in a very small breakfast roomSo we would probably stay there again, but in an upgraded room

    Great hotel, fantastic location

    rating31 Aug 2025

Clean, comfortable rooms, friendly and helpful staff. But the best thing about this hotel is the amazing location. Just 5 minutes walk from the Palazzo Royale, 10 minutes to the sea front and right on the edge of Chiaia, the smartest part of Naples (in our brief experience).Recommended!
