Deluxe room nothing like described and noisy location

    rating24 May 2025

The location of the hotel is good however if your at the front of the hotel it can be very noisy. The staff were very informative and breakfast was good, there are a lot of stairs or a small lift to get to the hotel which could be an issue if you have a mobility problem. We paid for a deluxe room for 2 nights, upon entering the room it was obvious that it was far from deluxe and not even superior, as per there hotels website the room was obviously just standard, there wasn't even a fridge (as advertised). We spoke with reception who stated that it was deluxe and that booking.com must have used incorrect photos, we pointed out that we booked direct with the hotel and based on the hotel's website we had a standard room, they said the pictures must be wrong and we had a deluxe room 100%. The decor was not very good, furniture dated, the windows to via Toledo didn't close properly allowing a lot of sound into the room, they even had a phone in the room with nowhere to connect it! We complained twice however received the same response that it was deluxe, it wasn't even superior, room 110 is standard as we were lucky enough to see inside a deluxe room that another guest allowed us to view. Very disappointing for what we paid, I'm sure a deluxe room would have windows that closed properly too.

    Great hotel in fantastic location

    rating25 Apr 2025

We just returned back from a 4 night stay at this hotel and had a great time. The hotel was in a fantastic location right in the middle of everything you want to visit with the Spanish Quarter on your doorstep and a 2 minute walk to Toledo metro station. The rooms were comfortable and had everything you need. We had a balcony overlooking the main Toledo road which was lovely! We are not fans of hotel breakfasts so cannot comment on this. The staff were very friendly and let us check in early, gave us information on where to go and called a taxi for us when we were leaving to go to the airport.

Solid choice in an excellent location

    rating18 Apr 2025

Excellent location in the Spanish Quarter, with easy access to the metro and very walkable. The signage for the hotel is pretty small, so we started out with some confusion as to where/how to get in, but we got sorted out pretty quickly. Our room faced Via Stendhal, and at first I was concerned about how much street noise there was, but the windows are super solid and we had no issues at all at night. Quite a large breakfast spread, but terrible coffee -- however, on the last day I noticed the group next to us order espresso and cappuccino, which was probably the much better option. Overall, it's maybe a little more worn than the pictures on their website suggest, but that kind of adds to the faded-palace charm of the place.

    Great Boutique Hotel

    rating28 Aug 2024

We were very pleased with this hotel! The room was clean and large. We had the deluxe rooms with the balconies. We made a special request to have two rooms next to each other and that accommodation was made for us. The front desk staff were outstanding, helpful and friendly. The included breakfast was excellent and the servers were very pleasant and offered cappuccino every morning. This hotel is located in a fabulous walking district and has a lot of historic charm! I highly recommend this hotel for the price, cleanliness, welcoming attitude of the staff and the location!

    Perfect location

    rating08 Apr 2024

The hotel was easy to find and the welcome was perfect and friendly. The receptionist adviced us at once about what to see and marked the spots on the map. We got our room very fast and it was just what we had wanted. The hotel is in two floors and our family room was on the second floor. The room, bathroom and toilet seats were very clean and cleaned every day. Nothing to complain about the tidiness at all! Room was very light bc of the height and the large windows - and although the windows were to the Toledo Street the room was quiet even during the rush hours. The breakfast is served in the large, beautiful hall and it's quite normal hotel breakfast, totally enough and very tasty with lots of cakes, pies etc. You can order special coffees too. Dishes and utensils are clean. The service during breakfast is very good. The location is excellent. Everything is near. The walk to the harbour took about 10 minutes, to the Garibaldi station about 30 minutes via the Spaccanapoli, which is about 10 minutes walk away, the Spanish Quarter is just across the street and the funicular to the Castel Sant Elmo is just a few minutes walk away. The Galleria Umberto and the Piazza del Plebiscito are a few minutes walk away. The nearest metro station is about 10 meters from the hotel. In the same building is a bakery, and just across the street is an excellent cafe where you can get fantastic cakes, pies etc and another one where you can get fast food and snacks, should you want some. A couple of nice and small mini markets can be found close in the Spanish Quarter and a bigger market is just a few minutes walk away.Because this part of the Toledo street is only for pedestrians the taxis cant drive to the front door but near enough. The service is perfect! The staff is always ready to help and very easy to reach even before the visit, should you have some questions and/or needs. They were very ready to even arrange a little surprise for us waiting in the room when we arrived (with a small extra charge of course which is normal everywhere). The hotel and the room had some very normal wear and tear, the fridge was not very cool (very usual thing nowadays everywhere) and the hair dryer had seen its best days (we didn't need it) - but still for us the most important things - location, tidiness, service, the atmosphere, breakfast and the "big picture" were totally perfect for our needs.
