  Room and bar disappointing

  The exterior of the hotel looks goodThe reception area looks goodThe people at reception were friendly The bedrooms walls were stone washed and that gave it a bland unfinished uninviting feel sodidn’t feel comfortable and also smelt damp.Just very functionally with no love or attention .Bathroom and shower were good but again no care and lots of laminated A4 paper with hotel “rules”.. such as .. - can’t take food into the hotel- can’t take food out of the breakfast roomNot very welcoming .. Had a drink at the hotel bar before dinner - perfect and friendly Went back after dinner - so uninviting, brightly lit and one of the managers there was so rude when I asked if I could order a drink after sitting at the table for 20 minutes while the 3 people working there were having a chat in front of the bar for most of the time.The breakfast wasn’t that great - tinned fruit and coffee from a machine that personally I didn’t like.Have to pay to keep your luggage when you check - 5 euro a piece .. As for the smell you mention, no such issue was reported during your stay; had you informed us, we would have immediately verified and offered an alternative solution.Concerning the information displayed in the rooms, these are not meant to be unwelcoming “rules” but clear guidelines to ensure comfort, hygiene, and safety for all guests. Such policies are standard in many hotels.We are also surprised by your comments about the bar service. Our staff is expected to remain attentive at all times, and your description does not reflect the usual level of professionalism we are known for.With regard to breakfast, we offer a varied buffet in line with our category, and the use of a professional coffee machine ensures consistency and quality, even if personal preferences may differ.Finally, the luggage storage fee is clearly communicated and aligned with common practices, as it includes a secure and managed service.While we respect all opinions, we believe your review presents an unbalanced view of the overall experience.   Clean, convenient to train station. Safe. Excellent staff.

  This hotel was everything i needed it to be for a one night stay as a solo traveler. It was very clean, convenient to the main train station, and felt safe. The staff were friendly and helpful. In fact, i would say they were excellent. I would not say this is a luxury hotel.   Where do I begin?This hotel is in a terrible area and is extremely run-down. The rooms are outdated and look nothing like the photos advertised. We were placed on the first floor facing the street, directly opposite a car park — the thin curtains let in harsh light, and the poorly insulated windows and walls meant we could hear everything happening outside.We barely managed to sleep for even one night during our stay. The staff seemed indifferent and showed little concern for guests’ comfort.Housekeeping entered the room without warning, as no “Do Not Disturb” signs were provided.The beds were made of two cheap single mattresses pushed together — uncomfortable and sunken in the middle.Avoid this place at all costs. It does not deserve a 4-star rating.   Nice hotel, great location, very close to the taxi rank, bus station, train and tube station, all less than a few minutes walk away max. Plus if you are coming to visit Pompei it’s only a single train ride away on platform 1, so no taking numerous trains etc. From Naples airport which is very close bye, take the Alibus, from the airport exit go straight over the carpark, onto the street and wait at the bus stop and get off at Garriboldi station, cross the road and behind the restaurants is this hotel, so easy to find. Close to shops and restaurants. Hotel nice and clean, staff friendly and professional, special mention to the beautiful Naomi, she was great. Breakfast was ok, continental plus eggs and cut sausage and bacon. My only negatives are, there wasn’t a safe in our room, plus there was only one electrical outlet to charge phones etc. So if you have more than one thing you need to charge take an extension lead!! Over all very nice stay, air con good, beds and pillow’s comfy. If I come back to Naples again, I would definitely stay here again.   Great location near trains and bus stations, comfy and clean, great value!

  I had a comfortable stay at the Hotel Vergillius Billia, I found the staff welcoming and professional and room was spotless. I enjoyed the complimentary breakfast and found it simple but delicious, had to drink two cappuccinos to wake me up from how comfy I slept the night before ☺️ my only note was I would have liked more airflow from AC unit (although I was still fairly comfortable) and I couldn’t get outlet to charge (I might have misunderstood how to make it work not sure, it had nearby switches but couldn’t figure it out) overall for the price and distance from train and bus station make it a convenient and fairly affordable place to stay. Would visit again.
