    Experience of Naples and the Ibis hotel

    This was a special break for me and my wife. We don't normally use hotels but picked this one for its location. We had be advised that Naples was a "raw" experience and we certainly saw all sides of its charactor but as far as the hotel itself was concerned, we had absolutely no complaints. Clean, efficient, exeptionally polite staff and perfectly placed to explore this lovely city or access transport links to other parts of Italy. Can titally reccomend the Ibis as a base to experience all sides of Italian culture.

    Good except one receptionist

    Overall the hotel staff were courteous except the front desk lady with the red curly hair. She was rude and did not email us our receipt of the 9 euros city tax after giving her my email twice. She did not even smile when we said good bye/arrivederci. I should have said good riddance.Our room’s tv has limited channels, all in Italian and no english news channels like Fox.Room & canteen was ok. Food was average.

    Did not honor late checkout

    We booked one night with early check-in and late checkout. These are deliberate options for the client to choose when booking. Late checkout was not honored in accordance with the confirmed booking (see picture of confirmation, you know, where they confirm the booking details). Staff were rude when ordering us out of the hotel and showing the confirmed booking made no difference. They maintained it was THEIR option to exercise as they wish, a nonsensical rationalization. This completely ruined the day. After all, they could have mentioned it when checking in but they did not. The air conditioning was not working. There is no fridge in the room. Bed is rock hard, something that I am ok with but you may not be.In conclusion, it is my opinion that you can do a lot better than a grotty hotel behind the train station that does not honor confirmed bookings, seems to cover up poor staff performance by blaming the guests, and appears to subsist on one-off tourist churn.

    Ibis Styles HotelLocation close to the main station. This brightly coloured hotel was satisfactory for our stay of 6 days in Naples. The location meant we didn’t have to drag our bags through the rough stone paving in Naples too far. For the money conscious, it is close to the grocery shop called Todis which is a cheap place to buy any food.Find the back way to go to Todis. At the hotel breakfast would cost €12 but our yogurt & fruit & tea from Todis a great deal cheaper. See photo. The room is comfortable. Bathroom is small but adequate and very slow for water to drain from the shower area. Water to drink can be found downstairs in their tea & coffee area. The mattress was not the best as not very thick. The pillows were very soft and uncomfortable. The staff were polite.

    Centrally located close to Napoli Central and Metro Station

    This Hotel has everything that we asked for it was close to the train station and metro station within walking distance to some good restaurants and pizza places. We stayed here 4 nights and were able to move to Pompei and Sorrento Positano and Amalfi Coast and with only 3 easy stations to the Spanish town where we had a good number of restaurants cafes and pizza like Brandi the founder of Margarita Pizza. Very clean room and washroom and amazing staff ready to help with any information how to navigate the streets of amazing NapoliGrazie Mille Ibis for an amazing stay in beautiful Napoli!
