    We have had a fantastic week at the Il San Cristoforo Resort. Everyone has gone above and beyond to make our stay very special! The resort has a busy wedding season with many complexities, and yet we felt like we were their special guests.This includes a full concierge service of arrangements for pickup at the airport, shuttles, taxis, and drivers to various destinations, suggestions for restaurants, excellent customer service in all facets (front desk, pool, restaurant chef & wait staff, housekeeper service, and the bartenders). In addition, they were very responsive through emails and made suggestions when something was challenging. The following gave remarkable service which we would like to highlight! There were so many others, but unfortunately we were unable to capture all their names:•Giuseppe Mastrocinque, Front Office Operator, excellence in handling so many activities at once!! And so kindly!! •Giampiero, creative bartender extraordinaire! •Nicolleta & Antonio, dinner wait staff, amazing speed and smiles!•Walter & Francesco, front desk logistics that stayed on top of the details happily! •Vincenzo, pool waiter who managed the heat, the food / drink demands and our poor Italian language skills!     Good base to visit Herculaneum

    Il San Cristoforo was a delightful surprise as we arrived from the Napoli airport. It is on the slopes and our balcony opened to Mt Vesuvio. Breakfast was served in its restaurant right in its large garden. Room is not fancy, but clean, spacious and practical. Hotel team helped ferry our luggage from guest carpark to hotel lobby by a golf cart.A convenient base to explore Herculaneum in the following morning before leaving for Amalfi.

    A fantastic location, highly recommended, and the location is also ideal, a short distance from, for example, the center of Naples and other attractions.

    This is a wonderful hotel! The grounds are immaculate and so serene with beautiful water features. You can have a crazy day out hiking up Vesuvius or go tramping round Pompeii and then come back here for serious relaxation. The breakfast was wonderful, so many pastries and cakes as well as the usual cooked offerings, cheeses and juice. They have thought of everything.The free shuttle bus is great, it drops you right where the Vesuvius bus departs from, and is also within easy walking distance of Herculaneum. The beautiful pool was still open in October, yes very cold, but cold water swimming is good for the circulation so get on with it!We're so lucky to have found it, thanks to all at Il San Cristoforo for being such fabulous hosts.A tip that would have helped us - your taxi cannot drop you at the front door. When arriving through the front gates, your taxi needs to drop you at the bollards and you either walk down or there is a golf buggy that can take you and your luggage.

    Great oasis near Vesuvius and Napoli - don't miss to visit the restaurant

    This is a relatively small but quite nice hotel that seem to have weddings almost every day. This means a lot of happy people and loud music during the day. Fortunately music usually seem to stop early evening. On the bright side this meant nice fireworks both nights we stayed.Nice rooms and great service but whatever the ratings you read about the restaurant, do not miss to visit there since the food and service was truly excellent. We were a bit skeptic since the menu was difficult to interpret so we went for the set menu (6 courses) and both me and my wife agreed that we have rarely had such a great dinner. The price/performance was excellent and quality/taste compared to many 1 and two star Michelin's we have eaten at. I had a great wine pairing and my wife non alcoholic pairing that was nothing short of fantastic in her view.
