Location

The hotel, located adjacent to the sanctuary of Madonna dell'Arco and housed in a 17-century building, is a short distance from Mount Vesuvius, Naples, the ruins of Pompeii and Herculaneum, and the famous Vesuvian villas. The bus station is about 50 m from the hotel and the railway station is about 100 m away. Naples Capodichino Airport is approximately 25 km away from the establishment.

Facility

The hotel has 40 rooms, which are located on 3 storeys and are reachable by lift. English- and French-speaking staff at the 24-hour reception desk are happy to answer any questions. Amenities include a baggage storage service and a safe. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. There are a number of shops as well. A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air. Additional facilities include a TV room.     Horrible place… dust everywhere, we couldn’t breathe; we escaped with the school, a place not even worth considering; the health authorities should have been called to the restaurant where there was a cockroach on the floor. IN THE ROOMS, DUST EVERYWHERE and the crème de la crème under the sheets, we found a LIVE spider; the toilet was full of mold, dust, destroyed showers, and extremely dirty. WE ARE NOTUSED TO LUXURY, BUT THIS PLACE IS ABSURD. Not to mention the broken doors… unwatchable and unacceptable showers, broken sinks, water that spilled out and flooded the entire bathroom.For a moment, we thought it would be better to sleep on the bus… Originally submitted in Italian on www.tripadvisor.it.     NIGHTMARE!!!Absolutely Horrendous – Avoid at All Costs!I stayed here for 4 nights and it was the worst experience I’ve ever had in a hotel.The rooms were filthy, damp, and full of mold, with a terrible musty smell.The bathroom was disgusting – mold everywhere, insects on the sink, and a shower so dirty it was black. To make it worse, only boiling water came from the tap, causing skin burns.The staff spoke only Italian, were extremely rude, and the owner’s behavior was shocking – yelling, swearing, and insulting guests.This place is unsafe, unhygienic, and run by people with zero respect for customers. Stay away!

    This hotel is a disaster. A dirty room with mold on the wall, filthy surfaces, and fungus, a stinking toilet, and in the shower only boiling water comes out. The towels are extremely worn out and look dirty. The air conditioning either doesn’t work or is switched off by the staff. When several of us from different rooms went to the reception to report it, they told us it wasn’t working and that a technician would come later. After we made a fuss, the air conditioning suddenly started working “magically” — but only for half an hour. The reception turns it on and off for all rooms whenever they want, just to save money.The food is disgusting, portions are strictly measured, and served on plastic plates. Even coffee is served in a plastic cup. You’re in Italy and drinking coffee from plastic? Absurd! The receptionist lies — first she gives you the key to another room so you can take a shower because in your paid room it’s impossible (very small, moldy, filthy shower and boiling water), and then she says you have to pay for that shower, threatening to call the police.The same with the hotel owner — he shouts at guests as revenge for meeting together to write a joint complaint. He demanded €200 for giving us a key to use the shower, but here’s the trick: the key had to be returned to the reception every day, something he never told us about. Since when in Europe do you have to return your room key to reception every single day?It got to the point where the owner told us, and I quote: “pack your bags and get out of the hotel, out of my house” — only the word “get out” was replaced with something far more vulgar, because that’s the kind of language he used.In the end, the threats about calling the police went nowhere because the owner knew the police couldn’t do anything — it would be one word against another. And if the police had actually come, 30 people would have shown them on their phones the horrible sanitary conditions in this hotel.Fortunately, we can — and we will — send our evidence to the sanitary inspection and similar agencies that check hotels in Italy. The hotel never once apologized for its rude behavior.

    During my stay at La Casa del Pellegrino, I experienced many unpleasant issues. The room had an unpleasant smell, the air conditioning was not working, and the shower provided only very hot water – it was impossible to adjust it to a normal temperature, creating a risk of burns. The room and bathroom were dirty, the furniture was damaged, and the beds were old and extremely uncomfortable – after just one night, I already had back pain. There was no ventilation, and the bathroom was in very poor condition.Instead of relaxation, I experienced stress and discomfort. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this place.

    Entrance difficult to find and when we arrived no staff to greet us. Room key given by staff in adjoining restaurant. We did not see a member of staff in three days. No paperwork completed so worryingly if there was a fire noone would of known we were there. Also no fire safety instructions on room. Room had musty smell and we had to sleep with windows open, room very bijou for three people and very thin pillows, asp bathroom unsafe my 80 year old mother had an accident as she tried to open shower and I went to reception for first aid kit but no one there, no number for anyone to contact etc. made online complaint to travelCompany. Went to go into breakfast to be told can’t use this restaurant go to cafe next door where our breakfast consisted of coffee and a croissant no other alternative Nearest train station trains dont always stop and as most things you need transport to are from Napoli central station we had to pay 50’euros each way in taxi. Were so unsatisfied with standard of accommodation and extra costs we decided to seek alternative accommodation nearer to central station
