  Getting In Is Half The Battle

  I am mixed on this hotel. I think it is OK as a crash pad but we had some difficulties with the service. I booked the hotel through the HotelTonight website. It stated that checkin is available until midnight. Upon arrival, we could not access the interior. The call box was broken and nobody answered when I called the phone number. I had to call HotelTonight and it took a little bit for the proprietor to contact us and let us in. Naples does not have the safest feel when you're stuck outside late at night.Once we were able to access the interior, we made it to where the rooms were located. There was an envelope with the name of the room we were told to take. It included the key and some instructions.The room itself was acceptable. Nothing too fancy but also not a total dump. Not the type of place I'd want to stay for multiple nights, but we needed somewhere for the one night before heading to the Amalfi coast. There was a bed, small desk, and decent bathroom.To be fair to the hotel, the location felt different and safer in the daylight hours. It was close to a number of public transportation stops and seemed to be fairly convenient. I was able to get to the train station to pick up my rental car very quickly.Bottom line... OK place for a no frills room. Not where I'd stay for a longer stay in Naples.

  No-one to check in, didn’t see one person in our 2 day stay. Felt dusty and old. Hairdryer was botched and stuck on with brown tape in bathroom. Would work for a traveller but not quite a romantic stay for a couple. Average overall, not much care into room.

  Designed with love but already decaying and not very clean

  We could tell the B&B was designed with love and the owner put effort and time into it. Sadly now the room wasn't in the best shape. We stayed in the Room Dante, which was spacious and with a comfortable bed. Besides that the room didn't fill the requirements expected... The level of cleanliness is barely acceptable. (we are used to German / Austrian level of cleanliness and this hotel doesn't have it). The shower head didn't work properly so we showered with the hand shower.Besides that, the place is really nice. The location is good and even though it is on a very noisy area the room is very quiet. (although we could hear everything happening on the hall). It is well located and you can get very easily to other parts of the city and the main train station. The neighborhood is not very pretty but it works and there are good restaurants to reasonable prices nearby.   We stayed for a total of 4 nights and we found the hotel spot on for what we needed, there was no problems checking in, the room we had was clean and well maintained,the locations was right in the middle of Naples and within walking distant to pretty much everything we needed to see. We had a small selection of what was on offer each morning for breakfast but it was delivered to the room every morning on time and it was just right to start the day.We found the the whole experience very enjoyable and would stay here again if we went back to Naples and I will be recommending this hotel to anyone I know visiting the city in the future Alessandro T, Owner at Maison du la Metro, responded to this review Dear guest, we thank you for appreciating our structure and our services and we look forward to welcoming you again on future occasions.   what a great little B&B

  just got back to England after a short trip to Naples where we stayed a for 3 nights at this little modern delight.Being a frequent hotel stayer on business back in dear old blighty I was bored with the typical chain hotels (Mercure etc) so decided to use Tripadvisor and Google to find a little gem for our short trip - and to follow up my excellent find in Budapest last year, I unearthed another absolute gem in Maison du la Metro.Like much of Naples, the area is old and tatty - the entrance to the hotel is a shared affair, hit the buzzer, gave our name and the door opened, went to 2nd floor, buzzer again, in we went - the reception area was un-staffed, but check-in was ultra swift and we were in our room in minutes.The room? Basic, but modern and very clean, en-suite was the same. Air-con was cold (and needed as it was very warm while we were in Naples) - a little balcony gave you a chance to do some people watching and be shocked by the standard of driving (just like the whole of Naples).Breakfast was brought to the room each day on time and comprised of coffee, juice and pastries - all fresh and tasty.We had a great stay here!!
