  4 Nights of Comfort, Kindness & True Neapolitan Hospitality

  Our first trip to Naples was made truly unforgettable thanks to our stay at Hotel Matilde. We stayed here for 4 nights and 5 days, and every moment was exceptional.From the moment we arrived, everything stood out—the fantastic central location, the comfortable and well-kept rooms, and most importantly, the exceptional service from the entire staff. The hotel is perfectly situated on Via Toledo, where you can soak in the lively energy of the city right from your window. Yet, once the windows are closed, the rooms are incredibly peaceful and quiet—truly the best of both worlds.A very special thank you to Anna, Rebecca, Luigi, and Fabio at reception, who were always warm, welcoming, respectful, and incredibly helpful. Their knowledge and genuine smiles made us feel at home right away.We were equally touched by Pia and Gerald in the breakfast area, who went above and beyond every single day. They thoughtfully prepared diet-appropriate meals for us and even packed breakfasts to go for our early excursions—often remembering our preferences without us even needing to ask. Their kindness and attention to detail, especially toward our 4-year-old, meant so much to us.We also want to mention the gentleman by the elevator (we’re so sorry we didn’t catch his name), who kindly helped us operate it and even provided a coin to get us to the correct floor—such a small but incredibly thoughtful gesture that we truly appreciated.Even the housekeeping staff, despite language differences, were always smiling, greeting us warmly, and ensuring all our needs were taken care of with care and attention.This stay made a world of difference in our first experience of Naples. The warmth and kindness of the people here really shine through—it’s something that makes you want to come back again and again.We highly recommend this hotel if you truly want to enjoy Naples right in the heart of the city center and be close to everything!Thank you for such a wonderful and thoughtful experience.   The room was spotless and overlooked the shopping area without being too noisy. The bed was comfy and the shower had good water pressure and heat. The staff were polite and efficient.   All you want for accommodations in the heart of Naples

  The rooms are exactly as seen in the website. The hotel is clean. The decor is weird. It’s sparse and unrelated to being in Naples. If you want a hotel that is in the middle of the action then come here. My room window looked into the Galleria. Breakfast was perfect. Nice selection and of course excellent coffee. The staff, particularly Luigi and Pia were lovely. Everyone was very accommodating, polite and professional.   Excellent location, staff, room and breakfast

  Superb location on the pedestrian portion of Via Toledo 200 yards from the Royal palace. The hotel occupies the first floor of a building next to Galleria Umberto. Walking distance to everything you want to see. The room was large and clean. It had a pwerful shower with vinegar scented bath towels. Well manged hotel with friendly, helpful and professional staff. Anna was Great. Breakfast area is small but it packed everything you want for breakfast including the best smoked Salmon.   Quiet comfort in a perfect location.

  This hotel is in a perfect location. Our window opened to the Galleria Umberto I, but the soundproofing kept out the noise. No slippers or robe, like other similarly priced hotels, but that was minor compared to the clean modern rooms, the well appointed bathroom, and the comfortable bed. The only odd thing is paying for the elevator. You need an Italian ten-cent piece to access the elevator (from the morning until 6pm), which we wanted to do since we had luggage and it’s not fun to drag things up the stairs. The hotel says you can call them with a button and they will come down with a dime, but we didn’t see a way to do that. As we gave way to a lady dressed for office work with a “Prego, signora,” she instead offered us a dime! We tried to give her a twenty cent price, which she refused. Then we tried to let her go first but she apparently wasn’t that much in a hurry, and even allowed us to proceed. (I love Italiani!)Reception was efficient and helpful. The breakfast area was very clean, the workers very kind, and the choices substantial. Highly recommend. It’s in the ZTL, but it’s right on the edge, so your taxi can drop you off only a short distance from the hotel.
