  Budget Stay in Naples

  Hotel Neapolis is not easy to find. Its Google Maps location is incorrect. Even seasoned travelers in our group struggled to locate the entrance, marked only by a small sign. Reception sits on the third floor, and the hotel itself is embedded within a car park, just beside La Locanda del Grifo.The hotel is small, with around 18 rooms. Rooms are compact but clean, with reliable A/C and solid WiFi. Set in the historic center, it’s an easy walk to landmarks like Cappella Sansevero and a wealth of restaurants. The surrounding streets are loud well into the night, with traffic, music, and bar noise. During the day, there is construction nearby. Breakfast is disappointing with limited choices and items past their prime (rotten bananas and eggs). In the end, this is a budget-friendly base in a vibrant, gritty part of Naples. It works if you value location and price over ease and tranquility.

  I stayed for 2 nights before flying home. The location of this hotel is great - nearby lots of restaurants, a lively atmosphere, and very near the Chapel Sansavero which I wanted to visit on my last day in Italy. It is a 6 minute walk to the Dante metro station, so easy to get elsewhere in the city. The staff were extremely helpful, and the price is a good value for central Naples. It is in an old building and the hallways are decorated with interesting biographies. I had a single room which was comfortable, and the breakfast was quite good in offerings. I would consider staying here again if I return to Naples.

  The hotel is very centrally located and beautifully furnished. The staff are very friendly, helpful and welcoming. The breakfast is delicious and varied. We would love to come back again.

  — About Neapolis hotel:The start of my visit to the Neapolis Hotel didn’t start off well seeing the hotel is in a dodgy courtyard and the entrance has a small, old, sketchy elevator (NOT wheelchair friendly).A fire alarm went off in the middle of the night and we tried to go to the front desk but there was no one there so that left us clueless to why it went off since there was no fire. We never got an answer to what happened . There wasn’t a fire so we have no clue what happened but obviously it freaked us out. They also had no clue what it was so we couldn’t even sleep further because we had no clue what was going on. AC doesn’t work well, middle of summer in this hotel isn’t very comfortable because only after we asked the AC worked a bit better. Wasn’t able to sleep well at all seeing the heat, and also because of the alarm. Breakfast is small, not many options, not picky eater friendly. Also moldy apples?Neighborhood is supposedly pretty safe, all though there was something going on further up the street with police and forensic techs..Could’ve been a murder, could have been something else.Not sure what happened but didn’t make us feel very safest..You can hear everything, them setting up breakfast at 5am, the music they play at 07:30, slamming doors, stamping up the stairs which were right above our room.All the keys look exactly the same, old keys with a huge keychain on it (makes it hard to take with you, so you leave it at the reception, it’s also heavy) so who knows if others can use their key on your room.Kept hitting our feet against the beds because the metal sticks out, it hurts.Pillows aren’t comfortable.Beds weren’t the best either.So overall i wouldn’t recommend coming here at all.No good breakfast, place is run down, didn’t get a good night sleep.— About naples:Neighborhood is supposedly pretty safe, all though there was something going on further up the street with police and forensic techs..Could’ve been a murder, could have been something else.Not sure what happened but didn’t make us feel very safest..Wouldn’t even recommend coming to Naples, it’s overrated, and sure, there’s probably some better neighborhoods and places to go here in Naples, but overall it’s dirty, people are loud, aggressive and backwards.If you do come to Naples, i don’t recommend going in the summer, it gets scorching here this time of year. We assure you that no murder had happened in the neighborhoods, that we are close to very beautiful monuments (Lapis Museum - Water Museum, San Severo Chapels, National Archeological Museum) and to very good restautants like Taverna del Grifo. We hope you can give us another chance in the future. All the rooms are restored now, breakfast and all the service have all been improved. Hope to see you again.
