Great stay at La Cala Della Torre Resort

    rating05 Jun 2025

We had the opportunity to stay at the Cala Della Torre Resort at the beginning of the season and we could not be more satisfied!Although the resort is not the closest to other places of interest in Sardinia, it is the most convenient for a peaceful holiday with everything you need.Shuttle/small train is accessible to drive you to the beach, or you can easily get there on foot. The staff members are the human translation for kindness and hospitality "all' Italiana".Special mention to Mr. Fabio, the manager of the complex, who took care of us and made sure our stay went well so that we did not lack anything.

    Vacation in Sardinia

    rating14 Sept 2024

A big hotel in a small village in Sardinia with a fancy 4 stars. There are 2 positive things in my opinion and that is the hotel's wonderful beach which can be reached by train and the second is the nice and quality food in the restaurant which looks like a canteen with a hell of a lot people walking around chaotically with plates and glasses in their hands. Otherwise the rooms are basic and outdated, in need of serious renovation. We had reserved a superior room, but we were in a regular triple room with a small balcony full of pigeons, terrible....Also so it is unacceptable to use plastic cups in the room and that too in a 4 star hotel. I would not visit this hotel again for sure!

    Mixed experience

    rating05 Sept 2024

My stay at Cala della Torre was a mixed experience. The staff struggled with English, making communication difficult, and it often felt like Italian guests were treated better, especially when requesting small things like ice for drinks. One bartender was a standout, friendly and helpful, even knowing a few words in Polish. However, finding the reception at night was a challenge, and dragging heavy luggage up the stairs from the back of the hotel was inconvenient. The rooms are old and in need of renovation. While ours had a decent shower, some of our friends ended up in basement rooms that were dark, noisy, and smelled of dampness. On the bright side, rooms were cleaned daily, and the beds were comfortable. The hotel's location is one of its best features, close to a beautiful, well-kept beach with plenty of loungers. However, there were no toilets or beach bar, which would have improved the experience. The little train that shuttles guests to the beach was a nice touch, and the nearby town offers some evening entertainment with restaurants and a promenade.Amenities were lacking overall. The pool is small and crowded, and the restaurant experience was chaotic with loud guests and food that quickly ran out. Breakfasts were repetitive, coffee was undrinkable, and there were no hot drinks at dinner. While some meals were tasty, there were often undercooked potatoes or overcooked meats. Desserts were a highlight. Animations were only in Italian and mostly for children, making them less appealing to other guests. Afternoon snacks were limited to sweets, which wasn't ideal for anyone who missed breakfast. The atmosphere was relaxed but noisy, with lots of screaming children. The hotel feels more like a 3-star rather than the 4-star advertised. I've stayed in lower-rated hotels in other countries that were much better.Overall, if not for being with a group of friends, my rating would be lower. Cala della Torre lacks charm and the quality expected for its class. I wouldn't recommend it for those seeking a quiet and comfortable getaway, but it might work if you're traveling with a larger group and aren't looking for luxury. The beach definitely improves the overall impression, but beyond that, the hotel falls short.

Better deal if you are a family with small kids

    rating09 Aug 2022

We arrived via a tour operator looking for a relaxing couple break - we understood there was a mismatch with what we were looking for. The hotel is close to a quiet amazing private beach and there is also a train-wheeled service going there throughout the day - big pro!The structure (around 1990s) and services are more suitable for families with kids or who loves kid clubs inside the resort: there were activities all day long at the beach, at the pool, and also in room-facing outdoor area (so you could hear it all evening long). A few parking spots inside the resort (in a week we always had to park along the public road outside); the hotel works with only a full meal deal and the quality was ok, however, the hotel was super crowded and when seated you were slammed by other tables guests. By our expectations and experience, we didn't get value for money for a 4* hotel (ie. we went to Olbia to Bacchus\Jazz Hotel and quality was way higher!).
