Not a 4* hotel it wants to be

    rating26 Sept 2025

I left a reasonably polite 3* review on Google that I dropped to 1* after the response from the hotel. You can hide behind "as advertised" clause as much as you can, but it will not help you win the expectations game of the hospitality industry. All negative reviews mention the same thing over and over again, and the hotel tries to fix the issue by ignoring it and reporting reviews for removal, which tells you everything you need to know.Blasting music every night until well after 11pm or just before midnight is an idea you should seriously put under review. You are not Ibiza, people want to sleep. I understand one late night event in a week to provide an entertainment which would also attract some interest, but your daily raves for 10 people are unnecessary.Hotel guests in 2025 expect WiFi in their rooms and basic conveniences like water refilled by the housekeeping staff (especially that you forbidden people from filling up their bottles with filtered water at breakfast). I can live without a kettle and tea/instant coffee sachets, but it stood out after the disappointing breakfast service. Sure, the variety was there, but the quality was not - this includes chipped crockery all over the place, and the fact that there were no glasses to drink from. Just paper cups. The basic catering porcelain cup could be used for water and juice, sure, but there were never enough of them to satisfy everyone's need to not use paper.Cleaning team was very courteous with making our bed each day, but without any bins in the room we had to pile up empty plastic bottles and various snack (including fruit) remains in makeshift bags to contain the rubbish... just for all of it to be completely ignored and left in our room for whole 8 days. but before you tell me I could have taken it out myself, please think again about your guests' expectations after reading you are reportedly a 4* hotel. We found cheap plastic cups in our room for water that was not refilled daily. There was an abandoned shopping cart stood in the middle of the resort for days. My experience was not good and it was made worse after the hotel's response on Google, clearly showing how management will ignore constructive feedback and tell people they are wrong when they are unhappy about what this 3.7* (Google, TA, Booking.com) hotel struggles to offer. The staff were nice, and the access to beaches, places of interest, and local restaurants and bars was very good. Direzione Club Esse, Albergatore at Club Esse Palmasera, responded to this review Dear Bart, thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. It's important to read your experience, though we regret that your feedback has been significantly influenced by what you wrote. We're confident that, thanks in part to your comments, we can take a step forward in our daily and ongoing professional growth. Kind regards,

Basic two star resort which 'thinks' it's 4*.

    rating13 Sept 2025

My review is based on All Inclusive option.Location 9/10Staff 10/10Room, standard room, ground floor, kind of cave type, 2/10FoodBreakfast 1/10, combination white bread, butter, yellow cheese, salty salami, sausages, ketchup and the rest what they serve = disaster for your body.Scrambled eggs looked like made of egg powder.Lunch 7/10, it was possible to find something good.Dinner 2/10, from 19:30 to 21:00, at 20:15 half of food on side tables no longer available.Choice of wine - one type of white or red.Not enough staff at dinner time. All Inclusive drinks - 4/10, sometimes long queue, no whisky, no brandy, after 23:00 you have to pay. It's a very, very noisy hotel, bring earplugs if you wish to go sleep before 22:00. Direzione Club Esse, Albergatore at Club Esse Palmasera, responded to this review Dear Guest, thank you for taking the time to share your personal perspective. A resort's category isn't determined by a popular jury awarding prizes, nor by the whim of its management; it simply depends on the services offered and the presence or absence of specific amenities and facilities. Our restaurant breakfast menu includes: three types of bread, sandwich bread with a dedicated toaster, toast, two types of brioche with custom fillings, two types of tart (chocolate and jam), biscuits and pastries, three types of cereal, plain and fruit yogurt, honey, jams, chocolate spread, ham, salami, freshly cooked eggs, sliced cheese, crispy bacon, coffee from a dispenser, juices, and water from a dispenser. For lunch and dinner, we offer at least twelve appetizers of various types and preparations, a white first course (one meat and one seafood), a second course (one meat and one seafood), two hot side dishes, various cold side dishes, salads, legumes, dessert, fruit, and freshly baked pizza. The first and second courses are different every day, with a menu that we only re-present every two weeks. Our menu is clearly very varied, broad, and plentiful, designed to meet the tastes and habits of as many guests as possible, and designed to ensure everyone can always find something to their liking at the buffet. We're sorry you didn't enjoy every aspect of your stay with us. Had you communicated the situation you're referring to to our staff, their intervention would have helped you during your stay, ensuring an experience more in line with your expectations. Kind regards.

Poor , I would not recommend this place.

    rating01 Sept 2025

I would not recommend staying at Club Palmesera Hotel in Cala Gonone. The breakfast was extremely poor – very limited choice, low quality, and definitely not what you’d expect for the price. Customer service was equally disappointing; staff were unhelpful and showed little interest in making guests feel welcome or resolving issues. The rooms were damp and uncomfortable, which made the stay unpleasant overall. Cala Gonone is beautiful, but this hotel does not do the location justice. I wouldn’t advise to stay there . Defo the price doesn’t go with quality. Direzione Club Esse, Albergatore at Club Esse Palmasera, responded to this review Dear Peter, thank you for your time. Our restaurant breakfast service includes: three types of bread, sandwich bread with a dedicated toaster, toast, two types of brioche with custom fillings, two types of tart (chocolate and jam), biscuits and pastries, three types of cereal, plain and fruit yogurt, honey, jams, chocolate spread, ham, salami, freshly cooked eggs, sliced cheese, crispy bacon, coffee from a dispenser, juices, and water from a dispenser. Our offerings are clearly varied, broad, and plentiful, designed to meet the tastes and habits of as many guests as possible and ensure everyone can always find something to their liking at the buffet. We regret that your feedback has not been optimal in every detail. Analyzing the comments of those who are less than completely satisfied has always been the best way we have at our disposal to increase our professionalism, in every area and for every type of experience possible. Your specific comments and general comments are being passed on to our service managers. We will continue to work to improve every aspect of our offering. Kind regards.

Save your money guys, and go somewhere else - the poor service obstruct the view.

    rating20 Aug 2025

Confusion & general organizational issues, Service not worth the price - more like a local camping than a resort, but in a good locationSave your money guys, and go somewhere else - the poor service obstruct the view.Having paid more than we did for our previous trip to the area, we arrived with realistic, premium expectations. Unfortunately, this is far from a resort - they rely almost entirely on the exceptional location of the site, with disastrous cohesion and organization. Here is a list of details:Arrival: cold welcome & poor English, only half the information was provided, we were given camping-style wristbands without knowing what they were for (& mine was different?).No information about our half-board accommodation, beach towels, beach chairs - EXTRA be careful! ($50/day during summer's weekend), or excursions. A golf cart was supposed to take us to our room, but after waiting in the sun and after a day of traveling, locals returning from the beach without luggage were given priority (what about walking, guys?).Room: outdated, a sofa bed instead of a bed as requested—and paying extra for it—a handicapped bathroom that wasn't requested and flooded every time we tried to take a shower. Everything was for two people, not three. A mini fridge that was half broken, no coffee machine or equipment in the room. Daily room service was okay. Does not deserve to be called a 4-star hotel or resort, or even “superior.”Restaurant: nothing to add to the other comments, poor quality, lack of variety and hygiene. General confusion, no explanation given, we were kicked out of our table and moved to another one where they added our name—a table assigned to us for the rest of our stay... to be then moved the last day of our stay. Cold and unfriendly staff, we came for lunch instead of dinner and a waitress came to tell us we had to pay - maybe a "hi, how are you today?" would have been better. Bad coffee if you don't want to pay extra, plastic cups and dirty wine glasses. The rooftop bar is definitely better, but it's far from being adults-only, with children running around and crying everywhere. There is no difference between the two sections of the restaurant; our section is supposed to be premium (yes, we checked, same food, even the two wines served).Fortunately, the pool reserved for our section was fairly quiet, despite a lifeguard who didn't reprimand the children playing very noisily with balls being thrown everywhere—hadn't we read somewhere that it was adults-only?Excursions: we contacted them when we made our reservation a few weeks before our stay, and the only response we received (which was late) was that it was not possible to book in advance. Once we arrived, we were told that there were no more places available until the end of our stay. We decided to go into town instead, where we found availability for the following day. In general, we felt that the locals were given preferential treatment over us (almost nothing is provided in English), with noisy campsite activities even in the restaurant. Children were everywhere, playing and shouting without supervision. Management was deaf to complaints, giving the impression that they didn't care—yes, guys, you can say what you want, but the comments speak for themselves. (And oh, no WIFI in the "resort", only at the reception). In short, if you want a beautiful localisation, despite below-average services, and are willing to overpay for what you get without knowing what you're getting into, then book here. Otherwise, move on—other hotels in the area offer much better services for the same price. Hotel dissuaded

    rating19 Aug 2025

Accommodating- old, without the balcony, any possible to change the room.Cleaning- with the chlorine, 1.change the towels for 7 days.Ultra All inclusive - long line to the restaurant, too few free tables, about 35% of capacity had marked Reserve. Limited selection of meals and drinks in the restaurant. Snacks only once per stay. Limited drinks in the pool bar only, from 10 to 11 pm. Lobby bar closed, don’t work per our stay. Meals were good, but fewer selection of meat, salami and cheese, sliced the day before. The hotel staff are unhelpful. Evening entertainment was only in Italian and every day was the same program.Beach and pool are great, but the beach could only be reached by long stairs . It's not for older people and people with disabilities. Direzione Club Esse, Albergatore at Club Esse Palmasera, responded to this review Dear Natalia, we're sorry you didn't fully enjoy your stay.
