Beautiful place not good service from Jet2 or Hotel

    rating01 Jun 2026

I never write reviews but feel the need to as it really is a shame that such a beautiful place hasn’t got it right! I can agree with all the negative reviews 100% that I have just read and here are my own. The positives are that it is a truly beautiful place. Housekeeping are good. The food is good with a bit on this to will follow! The Negative’s This is not what we would define as an All Inclusive. You go to the bar one day can have wine the next day you can’t! One day you can get bottled water from the bar the next you either try to be charged for the water ( I think not) or you have to go and fill it up from the restaurant but only when it’s open, forget freedom of walking up to a hot drinks machine at any time of the day, as again in the restaurant (when open) or served at the bar but the bar staff do not understand English tea has milk! Snacks are not provided throughout the day at all, mostly not at all, but some bread or croissant may come out if you’re lucky. We came back from a trip out in the morning (another problem) which we were not able to take a lunch with us like other ALL INCLUSIVE PACKAGES, when we returned at 2pm restaurant was closed and there were no other food to eat, no snacks to have at all throughout the afternoon until our dinner, instead just some crisps in small bowls at bar that we had to ask for! Half the staff are friendly the others are rude and uninterested in you if you can’t speak Italian. But they all work very hard and long hours. If you are coming with kids and expect toasties, chips and ice cream at anytime like most ALL INCLUSIVES then forget it also. There is a private beach for this complex and yet you are expected to pay for your beds and parasols at the beach. Apparently certain rooms can have them for free. We stayed Out of season on the last week of May first week of June and so no Rep, no excursions, you really need to speak Italian because they understand very little English. It became busier as the week went on and I just don’t know how they will cope in the June July August, not enough chairs and tables for seating areas in the evening, no good if you have a bad back or bad knees as mostly hard concrete to sit on around entertainment theatre. No glasses to be taken by the pool which is good but if you don’t have an alcoholic drink they feel it’s ok to put in a small paper cup while your friends with alcohol have a large plastic tumbler so you feel like child drinking out of a paper cup just because there is no Alcohol in it🤷‍♀️In the restaurant in the evenings there is a man on dessert duty( more like dessert police ) that gives out the dessert in very small portions and doesn’t like you asking for more! I felt like I was in the film Oliver “Please may I have some more sir ” A very restrictive All Inclusive. One lady who had only arrived that day even asked me if she was allowed to take her drink from the bar to the restaurant, we felt the same when taking wine from the restaurant to the evening bar area. It all just makes you feel restricted. Only if you book a certain room can you sit out on the restaurant terrace this is very misleading and false advertising! The location is also very restricted as no bus service at all, only taxis that Cost a fortune! We tried to arranged a trip but yet again not straightforward with language barrier and no rep to help, Yes she is at the end of the phone but not the same as being in resort for all the problems xSo even though it’s a beautiful place I would NOT RECOMMEND.To top it all off, our pick up was very late we waited for an hour after our meeting time that put us all into panic as we thought we were going to miss our flight home.

Lack of transport into Olbia, guest are kept captive with nowhere to go and total lack of excursions available.

    rating31 May 2026

I recently returned from a week's holiday at the VOI Colonna Village Hotel in Sardinia. Following a flight delay and a lengthy arrival process of almost three hours due to issues with the Entry/Exit System (EES), including system failures, frozen kiosks and biometric verification problems, I eventually arrived at the hotel. As a solo traveller, I specifically choose destinations where I can independently explore the local area using public transport. Prior to travelling, I had planned to visit various parts of Sardinia and take a trip to Corsica. However, upon arrival, I discovered that the hotel offered no shuttle service, either complimentary or paid, to Olbia, which is the nearest transport hub for accessing the island's public transport network.I spoke with Susanna, the Jet2 representative at the hotel, the following evening, but unfortunately, she appeared to have limited knowledge of local transport options and was unable to offer any practical advice on travelling around the island. Furthermore, I was disappointed to discover that there were virtually no excursions available during my stay, nor alternative organised trips available that would have enabled me to explore Sardinia's towns, cultural attractions or surrounding areas. The only excursion on offer was a boat trip, which did not meet my interests or the expectations I had when booking this holiday. As a result, independent travel was my only realistic option, despite the significant transport difficulties outlined above. As a solo female traveller, I do not hire cars abroad, as I prefer not to deal with the additional stress and anxiety of driving in unfamiliar locations. I therefore rely on public transport when choosing holiday destinations. Unfortunately, I then learned that public transport services serving the area do not operate until the local tourist season begins on 1 June. This crucial information was not made clear anywhere during the booking process or within the destination information provided by Jet2 Holidays or this hotel. Had I been aware that there would be no practical public transport access from the hotel during my stay, I would not have booked this holiday. As a result, I was forced to use Uber taxis to travel between the hotel and Olbia simply to access transport connections. Each journey cost approximately £50 one way, resulting in substantial and unexpected additional expenses throughout my holiday.I find it unreasonable that such a significant limitation affecting guests' ability to travel independently was not disclosed. Given that my holiday took place during the UK half-term period, when many travellers would reasonably expect transport services to be available, I believe Jet2 Holidays should have investigated and communicated these restrictions clearly as this limitation was not made clear on Jet2 Holidays' website at the time of booking. Had I known that excursion options would be so limited and that there would be no practical public transport links from the hotel, I would not have chosen this destination. The combination of a lack of excursions and the absence of accessible transport significantly restricted my ability to enjoy and experience the island as I had intended. The hotel itself is clean, albeit the main eating area much like a canteen, ambient lighting and better display of food would be beneficial. The hotel staff are quite cold and their English is lacking so they too are not particularly helpful.

Rude staff and poor management, failure to meet basic standards

    rating29 May 2026

Our family of four has just returned from a stay at this resort, and it is fair to say that our experience was, at best, barely satisfactory. To begin with the positives, the hotel’s location and views were excellent, overlooking the sea and the nearby islands. The excursions on offer, including the dolphin-watching trip we took part in, were well organised and very enjoyable. Some members of staff were also attentive and welcoming, particularly the maître d’ and one of the bartenders. However, despite these positives, the persistent drawbacks made it difficult to appreciate where the hotel succeeded. Upon our arrival at midday, we were greeted by staff who spoke very little English, making it extremely difficult to understand that we would not have access to our room until 4 p.m. We were told that we would receive a call when the room was ready, but this never happened.Communication issues continued throughout our stay. When we ran out of toilet paper because housekeeping had failed to restock it, we contacted reception. Unfortunately, staff misunderstood our request and believed we were asking for additional pillows. After three phone calls, we eventually had to visit reception in person before the issue was resolved. While some staff members were excellent, others left a very poor impression. One bartender, Emiliano, responded to a request for bottled water for our room by making an offensive hand gesture. This was both unprofessional and disappointing. In addition, there was a constant sewage smell in one of the rooms, and in another room the balcony door would not lock properly, making it uncomfortable and difficult to sleep. The all-inclusive package was also a major disappointment. There were no snacks available, and guests were required to pay for drinks at certain times, which appeared to be enforced inconsistently and without clear explanation.Overall, while there were some enjoyable aspects to our stay, the negatives ultimately outweighed the positives. The hotel has significant potential, but it is currently being let down by poor management, inconsistent service, and inadequate maintenance. I have never felt compelled to write a TripAdvisor review before, but this experience made it necessary.I would not recommend this hotel.

When "inclusive" is not "inclusive, disappointing

    rating28 May 2026

Our family of four have just returned from a 4 night break in Sardinia, staying "inclusive" at Voi Colonna Village. Firstly the positives, the hotel is located close to a lovely beach and not far from Olbia airport. However the many negatives mean we will not return. This hotel brings a whole new meaning to the word inclusive stay, for example, if you want a Mojito or Negroni, forget it, those drinks are not inclusive. There is literally no restaurant or bar choices, despite the website promising a variety of such, false advertising. There is one buffet restaurant, no other options. You must eat inside, the terrace is reserved for beach hotel guests only apparently. With only 1 bar there was always a long queue for a drink. The beach bar was not open, too early in the season apparently! The beach is lovely, but is a 5 minute walk downhill or a quick trip on the regular bus shuttle, however there are no toilet facilities or places to get refreshments, even the showers on the beach did not work, no water supply. We booked 2 rooms and one was filled with ants, which to the hotels credit they dealt with the next day. We arrived at 10.30am and told the room would not be ready until at least 4pm, however they would call us when it was, they never called and we accessed the room at 5.30pm. On departure, check out was 10am, they allowed us to have 1 hour extra in 1 of the rooms, hardly helpful for a night flight home. They did provide a room for us late afternoon for 30 mins for us to have a shower and change, which is not ideal for 4 people and especially when given 1 towel. The evening entertainment was OK and some of the staff were great, some non-plussed and some just rude. This hotel is not "elegant" and I would not advise going in May when the facilities are clearly not fully open. I would certainly not stay longer than a few nights unless you can put up eating, breakfast, lunch and dinner, indoors with zero view in a noisy, crowded environment. Having been to 100's of Inclusive hotels around the world, this rates as my worst experience. I would not normally write a review, but all the other guests we spoke to felt the same.
