  Full of character. Plus amazing service. The best.

  This was definitely our favourite hotel of the three we stayed at in Sardinia. First of all, the staff are so friendly and so fantastic. Everyone from the front desk staff to the restaurant teamGenuinely friendly and lovelyThis is not a modern hotel experience. As my partner described it, it is peasant chic This is absolutely not in any way derogatory. We love the fact that it wasn’t a modern hotel, unlike the other two that we stayed at.Old-fashioned in the very good way. Eg Deep sinks, but only one.No view of the sea in bed but good air conditioning Not the widest of double beds, but still quite comfortableMost importantly, dinner, we took half board, was quite an event in there very characterful dining roomBeautiful main house and dining roomMy partner is vegetarian and I am not.There is no buffet here, there is a small salad bar, but this is not a buffet as you would understand itNevertheless, they did a fantastic set menu for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians come up with a good degree of varietyAnd the food was very good, the best vegetarian and non-vegetarian food we had throughout SardiniaUnusually I did actually have, as the non-vegetarian, two days of meat options, which and other hotels I did not have, it was just fish all the timeDinner desserts, fantastic with home-made dessertsBreakfast was also very good. With home-made cakes.And, the highlight at breakfast, orange making machine so it was guaranteed fresh orange juice, again unlike the hotels we stayed atAs for the rooms, you need to do your research we were in a junior suite, the most expensive room, and so had a great view of the seaYou are on the east coast here and so you’re not gonna get a sunset, the sunset behind the mountain at about 6 pm in OctoberI am sure that in many of the other rooms you would not get done this long at allI don’t know how I forgotten this or left this to the end of this review, but they’ve got amazing beautiful grounds and their own private beachAll in all, an absolutely super hotel, bursting with character, with fantastic service.

  Hotel had great facilities, beautiful views. A bit out of the way so would need a hire car if you want to go out.

  My wife and I booked this as the last leg of our stay on Sardinia. Hotel don Deigo is located on a stunning panaramic cove. We particularly enjoyed using the free paddle boards and can highly recommend paddling across the bay ( on a windless day ) to “ flat stones “for some snorkeling. Creation shouts of Gods Glory ! The rock formation’s are incredible

  Just the most magical honeymoon spent at Hotel Don Diego. We got married and two days later we were arriving in paradise. The surroundings just hit you as soon as you walk in the door. The staff are so welcoming and accommodating. We arrived early so left our luggage and went straight to the beach to start relaxing! The room felt charming & very quaint which we loved. We also hired a car through the hotel for the day when we went on a dolphin boat excursion called Oltemare Tours. This process was pain free and so easy to do. The restaurant was 5 star, we looked forward to the menu options for each course every morning when we went for breakfast. It was a perfect balance of local cuisine and Italian classics. The tiramisu in particular every night was a lovely touch. Breakfast was lovely, lots of options available- loved the courgettes with breakfast and loved the custard croissants (best I have ever had!) Our days were spent going from the pool to the beach to table tennis…The evenings were magical as the entertainment was a live singer and a man playing a keyboard mixture of Italian music and English music. It was brilliant, I think the Aperol spritz helped!You made our first week as husband and wife so unforgettable.   A wonderful stay at a beautiful hotel

  We had a great stay at Hotel Don Diego, the hotel greatly exceeded expectations! The view and location is absolutely incredible, its even better in real life, set in a secluded cove, it makes for a relaxing stay! All the staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful and made several good suggestions for activities and restaurants as well as meeting our every need.The facilities at the hotel were great, nice pool and beach area, as well as a decent fitness suite and free rental of Kayaks and Padelboards. The room we were expecting to be a little dated but actually they were well kept and comfortable so we had a great sleep. The breakfast was good with a good selection. We ate at the restaurant one night and the food was nice, the set menu was 49Euro per person which compared with other restaurants in the area was quite reasonable for the food we got! Overall, it was a memorable trip. We would highly recommend this hotel!
