    Well done Baia di Conte

    rating14 Sept 2025

Balance di Conte is perfect for a wind-down holiday. Plenty of sunbeds at the private beach, the water is warm. The food is excellent, a wide choice (even salads) and friendly, efficient service. We wouldn't hesitate to book again.

Discrimination against non-italian tourists, maximum 3 star resort

    rating09 Sept 2025

Don't believe the good rating, read first the English reviews (not those translated into English).First I will explain why the hotel is discriminating against international tourists. They have an events/activities team which organise games on the beach, at the pool and have a show every evening. Saturday is usually when new sets of tourists arrive so they have a Welcome Show. Everything is in Italian - which makes sense considering that the majority of tourists are Italians. However there were plenty of Polish, Germans, English, French or Romanian tourists. Unfortunately the MC - David - doesn't acknowledge them at all. He was asking, in Italian, where the new guests are from. Went through each Italian province, north to south, even asked about Vatican and San Marino. But not a simple question: are there people from outside Italy? Or to say in English: Welcome to our international guests! 5 simple words. Nothing. We were approached on our first day by 2 members of the entertainment team. When they heard that we are speaking English they just went away. That was all their interaction with us in the next 7 days. I've seen them go around talking to Italian guests, on the beach, at the pool, in the restaurant, inviting them for various games, advising what's next in the day. Not once someone came to us because they knew we speak in English. They were chatting with children, organising games for them, were taking children for walks, even had a show with children as performers. Nobody came to ask our son if he wants to participate. Poor him, he wanted to go to the show every evening hoping that one of team members will come to speak with him, invite to dance or participate in the games. And every evening he left sad and frustrated that he's ignored. They were going everywhere in the outdoor theatre, speaking with Italian kids, knowing many of them by name, chatting with them. And this discrimination applied to other international families, that's why they were not participating in games and not even bothering going for the evening show. Now about the hotel. First of all, on top of what you pay online, they will ask you for a resort fee - Tessera Club. Which I wouldn't mind paying if it was worthed. They say that this is for having tennis courts, pools, sunloungers available. All the things that Spanish or Greek resorts are providing in the normal price - I mean that's why we are booking a seaside resort. However, although those facilities are there, no one is telling you how you can use more than the pool and the sunloungers on the beach. Beach is sandy but when reaching the water is all rocks, so we went to the public beach where is all sand. There is a kyosk in front of the reception where we were getting ping-pong bats and balls. That theoretically has a schedule (a limited one) but even during those hours, many times you can't find there anyone. And still don't know how the tennis or paddle courts were working.Check-in is only from 5pm. If you arrive early, like us (11:30am), that means that you've travelled during the night and early morning. Kids are tired and would like a bed to sleep in. Not a chance. I mean I've worked in several hotel in reception, and we were always trying to accommodate early guests by switching rooms. Here there is no flexibility. Receptionists say that they don't allocate rooms and are unwilling to help. Main areas of the hotel look like they haven't seen an upgrade in some time. I understand that the resort was recently acquired by a new company, hopefully they will understand the need to proper investment.Food is mediocre, especially breakfast. Loads of stale croissants, molded butter, artificial looking eggs, sausages and especially bacon. Compared with Spain or Greece, it's worse than a 3 start hotel. Lunch and dinner are only 1.5 hours long and if you are not there in the first half an hour or so you might find that your choices are limited. Food labels have the main allergens but they are sometimes wrong. Trying to ask staff in English about ingredients is almost impossible. We were lucky and grateful that Chef Daniele helped my wife who is celiac, otherwise would have been quite difficult to know what to eat. On the plus side, there are plenty of fish and seafood offerings. And unlimited house wine for lunch and dinner.Trying to get more from the hotel was difficult. There is another kyosk in front of the reception, where two women were supposed to be booking tours, guide tourists, offer various services. They were staying always in the dark there, hiding behind poster holders and computer screens. I've never seen them actively trying to talk to guests out of their hut, sell excursions, promote the area or other services. I wanted to hike the local hills, nobody knew if there are trails, hotel didn't have a map of the area, local agritourism restaurants, nothing apart from bus times.Trying to speak with a manager was also mission impossible. Just left, is in tomorrow (obviously wasn't), etc, just the poor reception stuff having to take the brunt of guest discontent. If the management was aiming for alienating international tourists, they did a good job. I just don't understand why Italians are putting up with those prices, poor service and conditions. For those money you can easily go to a 5 star in Spain or Greece.

If you are a Brit and travelling with TUI - DO NOT book!

    rating28 Aug 2025

Not a 4 star hotel more like a 2 star. The room we were initially given had no view and overlooked the back of restaurant, a flat roof with air con units. The room was small and shower curtain was annoying and not very hygenic. The hotel is Italian only and does not cater for international guests. The kids club was also Italian only and my daughter was left on her own to enter a quiz all in Italian. We arrived at lunch time but could enter our room until 4.30pm! Just what you wanted after travelling since 5am!This was not displayed on the TUI website. The bread and croissants were always old and stale, and the drinks were terrible machine ones. The pizza was very good. The resort is in the middle of nowhere and very little activities, 45 mins to nearest town on the bus. The gym had lots of broken equipment. TUI support was supposed to respond within 30mins, but took days to get a response. Lots of maintenance issues. Rude hotel staff although the entertainment staff were very good. Very loud music until 11.30pm. The kids disco only started at 9.15pm! The sandy beach was very good. 10 mins walk from the hotel is a nature reserve, lots of trails and you can rent golf carts if you book in advance, this is not advertised anywhere.

    We love it here

    rating24 Jul 2025

We stayed for 2 weeks this time. This year was far more enjoyable than last year as the entertainment staff were simply beautiful people. My daughter and I cannot speak Italian but the staff really tried to communicate with us and my 9 year old loved meeting them around the resort day and night. They would have a big hello for her and tried to include her, this was without her taking part in the kids clubs. She had great fun dancing with them at night time. Photographers, receptionists, staff at pool bar, restaurants were so friendly to us. I also recommend the boat trip from Gabby’s team. Giambattista is a fantastic tennis/Padel coach he is an amazing and patient teacher. Just a great guy. We just can’t wait to come back again. It suggest more communication after booking with being a return visitor regarding room choice etc Also please create a room for guests who have checked out to shower and get changed in. See you soon

Misleading, unsafe and completely run-down. Do NOT stay here

    rating21 Jul 2025

We were expecting a relaxing 4-star getaway, but what we got was more like a rundown 1-star disaster. This place is falsely advertised across the board. • Check-in wasn’t allowed until after 5 PM, and this was never mentioned on the website or booking confirmation. • The resort is in the middle of nowhere, which could be fine if it had any of the facilities it claims to — but it doesn’t. • No shops onsite despite being listed on the website. • The baby room was filthy, and the kettle provided for boiling water was unusable due to grime and rust. • No Wi-Fi and no mobile reception throughout the property, even though “free Wi-Fi” is one of their main advertised features. • No beach towels available — they had apparently “run out.” • The cot mattress didn’t fit properly, and our baby slipped underneath and almost suffocated — absolutely terrifying. • The wellness/spa centre has been shut down for over a year, but it’s still promoted as if it’s operating. • The shower head was broken and wouldn’t stay in place, making even basic hygiene difficult. • Dry cleaning is only offered on Mondays with a two-day turnaround — useless for most travellers. • The kids’ pool is dangerous — broken tiles everywhere. Our child got cuts on their feet (we have photos). • The tennis courts are unusable and appear abandoned. There is nothing left at this resort worth recommending. It’s outdated, falsely advertised, and clearly neglected by management. Most importantly, it is unsafe for families with children. This was meant to be a relaxing family trip — instead, it was stressful, disappointing, and at times genuinely dangerous. Avoid at all costs.
