    I stayed at Alma di Alghero for several nights and found the experience mixed.The positives are the good location and the pool. The hotel is about a 20-minute walk from the old town, and there are plenty of restaurants and cafés nearby. The pool is a nice bonus, especially during warmer days.Unfortunately, there were several aspects that did not meet my expectations for a 4-star hotel. The reception staff were often unhelpful and came across as unfriendly. The hotel does not offer proper double beds, only two single beds pushed together, which was not comfortable. The mattress and pillows were also uncomfortable.The hotel itself feels dated and in need of renovation. While the location is convenient, the immediate area around the hotel is not particularly attractive. Even the rooms with balconies do not offer pleasant views, as ours overlooked a car park and what appeared to be a construction or building site.The service at reception was particularly disappointing. On my birthday, I asked for recommendations for good restaurants in the old town for a special meal. Rather than listening to what I was looking for, I was simply directed to a restaurant the hotel appeared to be promoting. Throughout the stay, it felt as though staff were not interested in helping guests and could not be bothered to provide thoughtful assistance or local recommendations.Noise was a major issue throughout my stay. I was woken up early every morning by noise from other rooms, housekeeping, and activity in the corridors. The soundproofing is very poor, and you can hear almost everything through the walls. If you are looking for a quiet stay and good sleep, this may not be the right hotel for you.I did not have breakfast at the hotel, so I cannot comment on it, but there are many nearby cafés and restaurants offering cheaper alternatives.Overall, the pool and location are the main strengths, but the comfort, noise levels, room views, and service were disappointing. In my opinion, this hotel does not meet the standard expected of a 4-star property.

    Very noisy all day due to construction work going on a few feet away. No shaded areas near pool to sit so you are in full sun at all times. There really is nowhere to sit and relax in the hotel which is a major drawback. There are two seats outside the door, a tiny bar and about 4 seats in the foyer. Breakfast was ok but supplies were never replenished so if someone took all the salmon you go without!!! It is a good location as the beach is across the road and the walk to the old town is pleasant but I don’t think I would return due to the above issues.

    Clean hotel but overrated and noisy

    The hotel itself is clean, and the housekeeping staff did a good job cleaning the rooms every day. The location is also a big plus, close to the beach and within walking distance of the old town.However, there are major construction works going on on both sides of the hotel from early morning until late evening. The noise is extremely disturbing. Sitting by the pool was unpleasant because it was often difficult to even have a conversation due to all the construction noise.The breakfast was quite poor, and I would not recommend paying extra for breakfast included. There are much better options outside the hotel. The breakfast staff were also unfriendly and seemed irritated, which negatively affected the whole experience. Families with children did not feel especially welcome at the hotel.The service overall was average. The reception staff were friendly, although somewhat disorganized at times. One positive thing was that it was easy to arrange a rental car delivered directly to the hotel, although this was quite expensive.Overall, the hotel is clean and has a good location, but the experience does not match the advertised four-star standard. By Swedish standards, I would rate it closer to a weak three-star hotel.

    Had a great stay , staff very friendly especially the front desk, and breakfast staff. Room was cleaned every day to a very high standard. The hotel is down a narrow entrance which could do with abit of maintenance as it’s very bumpy, it’s facing the main beach and about 20mins to old town, the only draw back was our apartment on level one was facing a new building site where work drilling started at 9 and finished at 530, couldn’t sit on balcony, the management could have informed guests of this work, however we still enjoyed our stay

    Location to the old town is excellent, spotlessly clean. Great breakfast with lots of choices. Lovely helpful staff. Our room was on a quiet corridor, no sea view but very comfortable.
