Location

The hotel is located on the shores of Lago del Liscia, the lake in the heart of Gallura. It is just 1.5 km from the town centre making it the perfect destination for holidays in Sardinia. The nearest train station is 500 m away. There are restaurants, bars and shops in the centre of town, as is the bus station. Olbia-Costa Smeralda Airport is about 30 km away.

Facility

Guests have a choice of 19 rooms, including 17 double rooms. English- and French-speaking staff at the reception desk in the lobby are happy to answer any questions. Amenities available at the apartment hotel include a cloakroom, a baggage storage service and a safe. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. The hotel has wheelchair-accessible facilities. A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air. Additional amenities include a TV room and a library. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park. Rooms

Air conditioning and individually adjustable heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. A balcony is included as standard in some rooms. The rooms have a double bed and a sofa bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. Guests will also find a tea/coffee station included among the standard features. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels and WiFi (no extra charge) provide all the essentials for a comfortable holiday. Bathrooms are equipped with a shower, a bathtub and a bidet. A hairdryer is also provided. Wheelchair-friendly rooms with wheelchair-accessible bathrooms are also available. The apartment hotel has non-smoking rooms and smoking rooms.

Sport

No matter the weather, guests can take an energising swim in one of the 2 indoor and outdoor pools. There is also a special swimming area just for kids. A short break or an entire afternoon on the sun terrace, which features sun loungers and parasols, is time well spent. The hotel offers an extensive outdoor sports programme, including cycling/mountain biking, golf, fishing and horse riding. Water sports enthusiasts are offered canoeing. Sport and leisure facilities at the hotel include a gym and yoga. There is a wellness area with a spa, a steam bath and a solarium. Subject to charge: massage treatments. Activity coordinators organise an entertainment programme for adults and children.

Meals

Dining facilities include a dining room, a breakfast room, a café and a bar. A number of specialities await guests in the air-conditioned, non-smoking restaurant. The apartment hotel offers a wide range of catering options. Bed and breakfast, half board and full board can be booked. A continental breakfast buffet guarantees a great start to the day. At lunch and dinner, guests can choose between à la carte and a set menu. Staff are also happy to provide children's meals.

    Previous reviews have stated the great things about this hotel and I hugely endorse them all.I had a super room with views of the lake and mountains (which I couldn't get enough of even at dinner).All of the staff are warm and welcoming, especially the girls who clean the rooms and Salvatore, the 'Cheeky Boss', who just doesn't stop, from before dawn to after dusk.I arrived at the Valkarana exhausted and in need of a break. Its a magical place that truly allows the restorative energy of nature to do its stuff. I swam the pool, lay in the sun, walked the lake, read, relaxed, met some lovely people, had delicious food and returned home ready to rock again!Thank you everyone at Valkarana. I hope you have a good Winter break. See you next year 😀Su

    The most welcoming, relaxing trip

    From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by Vanni like returning family. The resort doesn’t have lots of attractions but this is its charm. Complete relaxation in stunning, scenic surroundings, the hotel is immaculately maintained, beautiful grounds and gardens, the staff - to a person - are warm and friendly and nothing is too much trouble: gardener, housekeepers, restaurant and bar staff are the best ambassadors for the resort. Food - where do we even begin? Great breakfast selection (more hot options would be even better) and the evening menu is beyond excellent. Set menu or a la carte offer exceptional choice and it’s cooked and presented to perfection. I am not a person to usually return time and again to the same venue but this hotel is now my Italian ‘family home’ and I will be back time and again. Vanni and Salvatore deserve special mention for going above and beyond what is expected. Incredible ambassadors for an incredible venue.     A professional taste of the real Sardinia!

    A lovely rural hotel overlooking a lake in rural Sardinia. This hotel enabled us to get a feel for the real Sardinia away from it all yet it offered a high class professional service.The room was large, spotlessly clean and the furniture, painted with floral designs on the doors was most attractive. The room just needed a couple of soft seats and a small table. Our terrace offered views of the lake too. We ate at the hotel both evenings and the food was excellent, particularly the four course set menu. The restaurant service, although quite slow for the first course, was very professional . We weren't in a hurry, and were happy to wait while we enjoyed the view from the covered outdoor restaurant terrace whilst enjoying a glass of the reasonably priced and surprisingly good house wine.     Like being reunited with a much treasured friend

    Coming back to the Hotel Relais Valkarana is like being reunited with a much treasured friend, who you are always happy to see and sad to part with. I love coming here, yes in part for the great black bass fishing on the majestic Lago della Liscia, but also to experience the warmth and care of Salvatore, Vanni and their friendly team, and enjoy the delicious food and drink.     Great Stay in a Tranquil Setting

    The hotel is situated in a very quiet and peaceful area, which was perfect for us, as we were touring the island on our motorbike. We had a large comfortable room, big bathroom and a lovely terrace. Plenty of parking areas near the rooms. We had booked direct with breakfast and dinner included, and we are so glad we did. The food was absolutely amazing. The set menu changed daily, and it was all delicious. The creme brulee was so good I had it on both nights we stayed.Special mention to the owner/restaurant manager and the waiter, and all of the staff for making our stay very enjoyable. We would definitely stay again and have no hesitation recommending this beautiful hotel.
