  Piccada piqued our interest and was worth it!

  If you can do stairs, this is the place to be. So many choices for lodging but this had good reviews that we felt, after staying, they were accurate. We were driving the island and it was great to park the car for the 2 nights here exactly in the spot we had seen on Google maps. The bottom lot is small but it is off road. We walked (downhill) to our catamaran trip (Zefiro Tours) and the amazing restaurants located by the harbour. We selected a sea view room and the view was stunning. The room was clean and comfortable, breakfast was great and reception was very hospitable. There was a supermarket not far away (but uphill) to buy a fancy drink to keep cool in the room fridge. We would love to stay again.

  Lovely friendly hotel with great views

  We stayed 2 nights to do the boat trip around the islands. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and very clean. We had a sea view which was brilliant and a terrace.The bathroom was really clean and with a nice powerful shower.Breakfast was really good too. Lots of cold meats and cheese, cereal, yogurt. The bread and cakes all tasted home made and were delicious.Thank you for a pleasant stay xx

  The lady who serves the breakfast really does her job with passion (and is fluent in German). Other staff are food too. Nice room, good breakfast, good location near the port, price very correct. Recommended.

  Basic hotel, close to Port Palau, clean room, quaint but dated

  We stayed one night in October, it is a 10 minute walk to the port where you can catch a boat ride to Maddalena and other islands. Breakfast is from 7:30-10:00 am, we missed it due to our early morning ferry. Our triple room was large with a partial sea view. The wifi did not work at night, we used our own data for internet. We were in room 301. It’s a quaint multi level hotel with stairs and elevator. There is free parking in front and behind the hotel. Great location and easy to find with large Hotel Piccada letter outside the hotel, the sign lights up at night so easy to spot and walk back to from the Port. Beds were comfortable but twin bed was concave. Staff was very nice. 2 EU pp hotel/city tax, kids free. Close to port with great gelato shops try Gelateria Fioro Di Maggio! Had excellent pizza at Cuppulatta restaurant. Really fun playground for kids next to Port Palau. Parking at port was 1 EU an hour.

  Something very good, something disappointing

  Piccada hotel is a big, old fashion hotle in a very good location, right in front the touristic port of Palau.The rooms are reasonably comfortable but the furniture is dated and the overall look of the place is of an hotel from the '80s.The personnel is very kind and friendly, trying to help the customers if they can.The room we booked was a superior room and they firstly gave us a nice room with a nice balcony facing the pier. The big problem with it was that on the balcony there was the AC motor unit of the near rooms, so, even if our AC was off, we had noise and heat coming in from the open window. So we had to switch the AC too and close the window, sleeping all night with AC that was NOT necessary and annoying. In Palau there is such a lovely breeze that sleeping with AC is a nonsense.The day after we asked to be moved to another room and, luckily thay had another identical, the floor above, but with no balcony and, luckily, without the noisy AC motor...The breakfast is generous but the quality of food is not that much. Almost NO local products and breakfast room that was partially dark and, again, with annoying AC that made the stay uncomfortable. Unfortunately there are not open air tables, apart one that is for smokers, so, if you were lucky that nobody was smoking in your face, you could have breakfast outside.The last disappointing thing was the parking. We had a car and the choice of Piccada was because they advertised the parking available.Unfortunately, they did not say that the parking places were not enough for all the guests and so, parking the car has been truly hard, even if we paid for it...So, all in all, for a three nights stay, it was not completely good, and not completely bad, but for the price, sincerely, we expected something better.
