  This place is understaffed and clearly unable to come up to expectations. The staff are almost universally rude and inflexible. Not recommend at all.

  Stayed here 4 nights. Very happy with our room. Overlooked the pool with a bit of a view of the sea to the side. No complaints at all about the rooms. Everything perfect.Not so impressed with housekeeping, which wasn't a big deal. The first day they missed us completely. Next day we used the please make up sign. Returned mid afternoon and still hadn't been done. Assume they were understaffed and we were just unlucky.This hotel is wonderful. Great location to get into town. And the best Pizza Restaurant ever just round the corner (OK Pizza)!   Very nice hotel

  Not five star, location not the best but nice rooms

  Stayed as part of organised trip but a solo person on the trip. It is rated five star but I would not say I felt it met the standards of service etc I would expect. It does have a lovely pool area, a pool bar, and a spa for treats, which adds to the star award.The rooms were good (an array of plugs and switches I never discovered the use of), nice bathroom, large walk-in shower. Plenty of toiletries etc, towels reasonable quality. There is a safe and fridge in the room, also a kettle for tea (limited English Breakfast but they are available in breakfast room) coffee. Large comfortable balcony and comfortable bed. There are wonderful views from all rooms I think, mine had a side sea view over-looking the pool.The hotel is a kilometre walk to the old town, with limited restaurant and bars close by (one option is to turn left out of the hotel to other hotels which are a little closer). So if you want to talk into town of an evening it is not an easy option, taxis from the town can be called. There are two restaurants but for our four nights they were never open, the buffet one opened for breakfast but was then closed for the rest of the day. The a la carte restaurant was not available throughout our stay. So you had only the snacks from the pool bar, which one day only had two options. So being far from the centre was a problem. Breakfast had a good choice and you can ask for coffee rather than try to use the machines, which were not always working. The staff were not that friendly or helpful, they were functional as neither were they rude. Overall I found the hotel cold and unhelpful, the views are good but I would not chose to stay there if I was visiting again. The old town itself is lovely, and a trip to the caves by boat means you do not have to climb the stairs.   Checked in and upgraded to seaview room superior which was very good. Got to room which was definitely not 5*star room.Went down to Spa area to use sauna and pool which was told can use it for €45 for 90mins. Outdoor pool freezing so no great facilities. No music no atmosphere. Never stayed in a hotel especially 5* that you have to pay to use facilities.Carpets in hall dirty, humid. Asked use iron had to go down 1st floor which is also an additional charge although cant use in your room, disappointing and no room service to bring iron to you.Got home that evening and air conditioning not working although advertised on booking.com rooms have. Reception said they dont have and its only turned on certain time of the year supposedly although humidity was 87%. They said hot air is air conditioning.Partner went for breakfast which was miserable, hotel has no atmosphere or anything to offer.Asked talk manager who wasnt here eventually got him next day and explained how unpleased I was about sauna and pool area and is not that much in Ireland and Ireland is expensive never been to hotel where can not use facilities. I understand massages is additional but not facilities you came to use. Manager was not helpful, no solutions, through back in face about the upgraded room, said air conditioning is set for hot air. Asked since I am not even getting air conditioning and out of control, I asked to use spa as a compromise which I be happy to move on and not write this review. Worst experience of my life, would definitely not come back. Been to plenty 3* hotels which have had atmosphere, good food and good experience overall.Hotel has huge potential with changes suggested from all the customers past reviews if they where taking onboard.asked speak with general manager and not available, asked speak manager and not available always at lunch! During your stay, due to the specific weather conditions, we received an overwhelming number of requests for heating, which was therefore prioritized.
