Since staying here several years ago this has become a budget hotel no longer suitable for international tourists. On arrival no assistance with luggage. Then half hour wait at check while sole receptionist attended to a person looking for a job despite a queue of 4 people trying to check in. Awful skimpy breakfast. Automatic coffee machine only. Scrambled eggs like warm glue. Staff in breakfast room disinterested. Room large and clean with a view over a ruin. 10 min walk through park into town which is perilous at night due to gangs of unemployed youth. We were very disappointed.

On June 3rd, after checking out and traveling to Milan, I realized that we had left an incredibly important package inside our room’s safe deposit box: our three passports, and a significant amount of cash. ?While I do not have the specific names of the housekeeping team who cleaned our room, I want to thank them from the bottom of my heart. They demonstrated absolute honesty and integrity by immediately reporting and securing our possessions, including every single cent of the cash.?I was in touch with Ms. Charlotte Pader at the reception and concierge desk, who was a total professional during a very stressful time. She personally took charge of the situation, meticulously counted and verified all the money, and ensured everything was locked away safely. She held onto our belongings securely until a representative arrived from Milan later that evening to pick them up on our behalf.?When you travel, you hope to stay in beautiful places, but finding a hotel team with this level of trustworthiness and dedication to their guests is truly rare. Thank you to the housekeeping team, thank you to Ms. Charlotte Pader, and thank you Starhotels Du Parc for saving our holiday! I stayed for 3 nights during a business conference so possibly a bit hard to get a true reading but comments are as follows.The positive was definitely the conference facility in the lower ground floor. There were easy 200 of us.Also it’s a good location for the town centre. A nice walk through a park and you are there.Other than that the whole place feels very tired. Rooms are a bit tatty.The bar area in particular was pathetic.Had a meet and greet first night and the beer ran out after 20 minutes. Literally 2 or 3 staff trying to deal with 100+ people.The food we had during the stay was pretty poor. In particular the breakfast.Went the first morning then never went back.Apart from the quality and choice of food being poor the service was embarrassing. Popular conference and meeting venue, a bit worn out in an area of town in need of regeneration.

This is really a business and conference venue so it has taken a beating since whenever it was last renovated.The location is in a part of town which appears to be struggling would be the most diplomatic explanation. The rooms are dated but at least quiet.
