For a nice stay in the historic center of a small and delightful Italian city, this is the place!

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our three-night stay at this friendly little hotel in the historic pedestrian center of Parma. Underground parking is a plus. Pleasant restaurants are walkable, as are the Cathedral, octagonal Baptistry, and excellent opera house, the Teatro Regio. We strongly recommend a five-person group tour of a small, family-owned Parmesan cheese factory like one arranged for us through the hotel. Friends who visited Parma and also stayed at the Torino Hotel after us appreciated its scale and easy-going pace as a welcome contrast to the exhausting crowds of Florence and Rome.

    Perfect for solo travel!

Recently stayed at the Hotel Torino and loved it! Great location, friendly bilingual staff, nicely appointed rooms and great price too! My only complaint was the bed was a smidge on the hard side. I was in a solo single and not sure if all the beds are this hard but if they improve that the Hotel would be top notch!👍🏻😊

    Breakfast not free

    rating15 Oct 2024

It says on the trip advisor site and the hotel website that breakfast is included. I was charged $16 a day for the worst breakfast in Italy. When I mentioned this as i was paying my bill they said they could do nothing but offer me a cup of coffee. Poor customer service. The cleaning staff was the best as the room was spotless. I hate to be misled.

Reason to visit Parma (among many others)

    rating21 Nov 2023

Party of four (two couples) stayed at Hotel Torino in November. It was very easy to find for a foreigner driving first time in Italy. Perfect parking space in the basement, perfect receptionist, perfect breakfast, perfect location for first and sadly a short visit to Parma. Very spacious room with a large balcony and reasonable off season prices.

It's OK but not much more than that

The Hotel Torino is about 11 or 12 minutes walk from the Parma central railway station and a pleasant walk as well. The hotel is right in the centre of town, the historical sites and shopping, restaurants and bars all being very close. A small hotel badged as 3 stars. Check-in was easy, the receptionist was cheerful and helpful, I just wish I could say the same for the room cleaners and the breakfast staff. The room was very basic, Yes, it had ample plug points, wifi worked, the bed was OK but not great and there was a small TV, but the fittings and furnishings are very simple, indeed they appeared really cheap. A hard seat and plain desk, no pictures on the walls whatsoever and the bathroom was tiny and yet somehow a toilet, bidet, sink and shower had been squeezed in. I felt like I’d be better lathering myself in oil to squeeze between the sink and the wall! And the shower was like a coffin,....for a child! There was no coffee machine nor kettle with instant coffee/tea. Nor was there a fridge. Breakfast is a fairly simple affair compared with the many other 3 star hotels that I have stayed at in Italy. A few cold meats and cheeses, several of types of bread (but nothing fancy) and just one type of croissant. There were cakes, three choices of cereals, three fruit juices and a commercial coffee machine. The food tasted fine, there just wasn't a great deal of choice. For the price and considering the central location, I would say that this hotel is probably reasonable value for money......just don’t expect anything luxurious nor a great breakfast.
