    A 2-star hotel experience

    rating25 Oct 2025

Traveling in a tour group of Rome and Assisi, we stayed for 4 nights at the Assisi Dal Moro Gallery Hotel in mid-October 2025. Based on our stay, our opinion is that the hotel is a sub-standard, a “2 star” hotel. There was no A/C (we were told that they had “winterized” the HVAC, so it was impossible to have A/C), and opening the windows for ventilation allowed street noise and pigeons - yes pigeons - in; there was pigeon poop on the inside ledge. Our room was small (even by European standards), and hallway noise was common. The room carpet was stained, with a slightly larger than tablet-sized TV, and an acrylic desk chair. When we complained to the front desk about the TV size, we were told that all the room TVs were the same size. We knew this was not true, as we had spoken with several other guests. The bathroom was cramped with very limited counter space. It had no facial tissues, and the very small shower had mold in several areas - see photos.Breakfast was limited in food and beverages. Dinner was mediocre with a few exceptions. The front desk manager was cold and brash. There was, however, a young man at the desk who was always very helpful. The hotel was far below what it showed/stated on its public website - e.g., photos vs. reality, no live piano music in the lobby.

Very small rooms and only 1 velux

    rating09 Jun 2024

This was a not a nice experience - no windows as showed in their overview - only 1 velux high in the ceiling that you cannot touch. The rooms are so small that you cannot pass the bed and cupboard. The woman at reception was not friendly when told. Hotel Dal Moro, Proprietario at Dal Moro Gallery Hotel, responded to this review Dear Mrs. Brigitte,we are sorry that you were not satsfiedHowever, we would like to clarify thatin this type of room (single but not small as you described, Is possible to open the window with an electric system exactly there are 3 buttoms:1 to open and close the Window1 to open and close the External Courtin1 to open and close the Interior Courtin however you could ask at any time at the Reception as there is an employee 24 hours a dayyour sincerely

    Excellent but...........

    rating10 Apr 2024

Beautiful hotel in an excellent location. Rooms spotless and cleaners did a fab job. Dinners great, however breakfast left a lot to be desired. Head server and pony tailed young lady were extremely rude when we dared ask for hot coffee or water. We were told if everyone came down at the same time water and coffee would be hot, despite breakfast listed as 8.00 -9.00am. These 2 members of staff made breakfast a real challenge for our group and prevented a 5 star review.

Basic, No Frills Hotel But Clean

    rating24 Nov 2023

This seemed to be a tiny town and was a midway stop for us on the way from Rome to Florence. Our room was a little bit of a challenge to get to - you'd ride an elevator up one floor, then have to drag your bag up a few stairs, then down several hallways. The rooms were very basic, but somewhat dated. There were restaurants nearby that were good, so that was a plus. The breakfast buffet had a lot of options. It was a quiet area.

Simply brilliant hotel, offering the very best of hospitality, food and location. Five star review!

    rating26 Sept 2023

Having stayed in this hotel on a number of occasions I can honestly say you won't get better than this. The staff are super friendly and helpful with nothing too much for them. The whole atmosphere of the place is both very positive and friendly, whilst the accommodation and food cannot be beaten. Many thanks, especially to Francesca, Elisa and the hospitality team, to Erwin and his colleagues in the dining room, and of course to the housekeeping staff. All of them work extremely hard to make a stay there both welcoming comfortable.
