    This hotel is situated outside the main Perugia city, down a hill and a 25 minute walk from the mini metro. Its not terribly convenient for tourists. The rooms are tired. Minimal facilities with old fashioned bathrooms. We found the service OK. Not particularly helpful, expect for one assistant. Be aware that standard European plug adapters don't seem to work in any of the room plugs. The hotel will lend you some for a 5 euro refundable deposit. The breakfast was very disappointing for a 4 star hotel. The only hot food was eggs and they were dreadful! Otherwise, standard bought in products. It's not bad if you have to find a bed in Perugia...but suggest you look for others first.

    Exceptional Customer Service

    I was recently at guest at the Plaza Hotel and I would like to let everyone know about the exceptional customer service I received from Marta. I was staying with a large group, but had to return to Canada earlier than my group by myself. Marta was kind enough to find a bus that would take me to the airport with no transfers. I was nervous about finding the bus terminal so Marta took me to the bus terminal in her own car so that I could see where it was, know how much it would cost me by taxi and showed me exactly where my bus would be. I was so relieved! When I was unable to purchase a ticket in person, Marta helped me purchase a ticket online. I don’t know what I would have done without her help! When I returned to Canada, Marta, sent me a lovely e-mail making sure that I got home ok. Marta went above and beyond to make me feel less anxious about my journey to the airport. Her patience and kindness was greatly appreciated. She was incredibly helpful and I will always look fondly on my stay at the Plaza because of her!~M. Honsinger

    We really loved this hotel. It has a traditional hotel feel to it, with very friendly helpful staff. We started mid July and it was very quiet, so this review may reflect that as we had the run of the pool and services due to low residency. It is situated outside of the main old town centre and of you arrive without a car as we were you will need to be of moderate fitness to walk in to the town centre as it’s a steep walk up, however there is an escalator for part of the way. I would recommend visiting the Marmore falls which you can get to from Perugia station direct via Terni. Once at terni it’s a short ride on the bus. This I would say is best to arrive early for, and spend the entire day there! Also Assisi and Solleto are two other Umbrian towns on the same train line we’ll worry a visit. Travel costs are very reasonable. Overall a great place to visit, and the Perugia hotel is a lovely place to stay. Bear in mind a bus is best to catch from the station to the hotel, as when you arrive with your luggage the pavements are in very poor condition to cart a suitcase along.     The hotel is extremely overpriced. They charged €150 per night for a couple. The breakfast is very simple and we usually left it hungry. The staff isn’t helpful and some of them were rude. The Wi-Fi connection is horrible and more often than not we had to turn it off and use our own 4G connection. The location is another downside: you have to walk up a hill for 30 min to get to the city center. It was clean, though. Only book here if this is your last option.
