Lovely location but hotel is disorganised

    rating12 Aug 2022

We stayed for a couple of nights. The first important thing to understand is no air conditioning which in the height of summer means the rooms are very hot. Breakfast is poorly managed…on the first morning I had to ask for cutlery, plates, glasses, butter, it was endless and the second morning wasn’t much better. It also took a lot of effort to get towels for everyone- basic things. The building and setting are great but the hotel needs to work on being more professional as the impression is that all the members of staff seem to have the same job so nobody is in charge and therefore the guest experience isn’t consistent

A Wasted Weekend and Wasted Money

    rating26 Jul 2021

The location is very nice, the building ancient and nice. However…the rooms are not as pictured. Our room (Room 13 or 113) was small and cramped, the shower was very small and broken, and the room was on a noisy back street in the back of the hotel so beware. We asked for another room, but we were told they were all the same and our request was denied, we were not told the truth. Regrettably we did not photograph our room. During dinner on two different occasions, the owner and restaurant staff were arguing so loudly we heard them in dining area. On our second night the owner in an angry mood tossed our menus to us! The food was good and the location nice (except the view from our room), but this is not a Four Star hotel as advertised on some websites. Lastly, at checkout, there was no record of our room deposit and when we advised the owner of problems with the room, the owner argued and denied the problems that were pointed out. To be fair we offered to show the problems right then and there, but he refused our offer. The staff did their best, but the owner needs to sort himself out and understand the customer pays the bill that supports him and his staff, accept responsibility and stop living in a state of denial. I hope Roberto will accept this constructive evaluation and in the future listen to his customers and respect his staff. We are not affiliated with any hotel, or B&B and do not work in the travel industry.

Great views but ridiculously expensive for the facilities offered

    rating18 Jul 2019

The view from the room was beautiful and this location is good for exploring the lake (15 minute drive away) and local area but that really is it.... This an extremely rustic hotel with little modern facilities (except WiFi which was surprisingly good). The staff are generally polite but honestly feel like they would prefer they and you weren't there. The room was large but very basic, as was the bathroom - the bed was comfortable. We booked a room with the balcony which was a god send as it provided some cooling (No Aircon here) and allowed the great views. The breakfast was so limited with no member of staff to help that we actually headed down to the lake for something every morning. The pool was OK but the day we used it they seemed to invite all the local to use the pool which wasn't the most relaxing of experiences. This would all have been OK if this experience hadn't cost us over 550 Euros! We spent less on some lovely properties in Florence and Milan. My general comment is if you are spending this much go and find a nice self catered villa nearby.

Beautiful view, bad coffee, bed bugs

    rating21 Aug 2018

We stayed at the hotel for 7 days in July. The location is very nice with a most beautiful view towards the Lake Trasimeno. Our room was quite big with a good view but be aware that other rooms are very small without view. Food was ok, but coffee was quite bad. The very big problem was bed bugs. I was very severely attacked by bed bugs in our room. I had quite severe allergic reaction. Even 3 weeks after be bitten I still have marks. The problem with bed bugs is that there is a risk that you will carry them with you and we had to carefully clean our close and bags after returning from the hotel. I have written directly to the hotel to ask them to take action, but have received no answer. From other reviews on tripadvisor I can see that the hotel has done nothing. Therefore be very careful if you think about staying at this hotel. Roberto P, Direttore at Relais La Fattoria, responded to this review Good Morning, sorry for the late reply and for the drawback. As every years, in Winter, we will provide for the disinfestation of the rooms.I would be grateful if you could tell me the number of the room where you was, or the floor.Thank youRoberto Pammelati

    Amazing location

    rating14 Jun 2018

We spent 5 nights at this lovely hotel while attending a wedding nearby. The village and views are fantastic and most of the staff were excellent, except for 1 lady who gave the impression that we were a nuisance staying at the hotel. Breakfast and dinner were first class.
