    Lovely place for families

    rating10 Aug 2023

It’s a really nice Villa with a lovely breakfast and a huge and clear pool. We have been there in July with our family. The kids loved this place very much. We could swim until late at night. The pool was so clear and huge. Breakfast was varied and really good.

Easy to get to. Unusual in Orvieto

    rating11 Sept 2020

We chose to stay here for ease of access and parking. The hotel is a fine old house and in Spain would be no doubt a Parador. The pool was welcome on a warm arrival day.We did not dine at the hotel but the menu looked good and pizzas are made here, a large dining room and terrace in the wooded grounds are options.Ten minutes drive has you in the beating heart of Orvieto parking is available right next to the duomo.Breakfast was adequate in a smaller room.We were the only guests.

    Safe but nothing special

    rating28 Sept 2019

The property was disappointing. Clean and functional but cold and a bit austere. It’s located just a short drive from fabulous Orvieto and it has a large parking lot but there is nothing within walking distance. A little buggy when we were there so leaving the windows open is a bit of a problem. When open, the restaurant is authentic Italian and pretty good but not worth passing up a meal in one of Orvieto’s outstanding trattorie or enoteche. Definitely don’t pass up a chance to visit Orvieto but it might be better to explore places to stay in town or in the countryside.

    Cool Castle-like hotel

    rating28 Sept 2019

This was our last night of a 9-night trip to Italy. We chose this location to visit one more city before flying out of Rome. We loved Orvieto and Hotel Villa Ciconia. It was a very simple room. We were glad to have a TV with CNN (English-speaking!) only time during our whole trip we had English TV. No elevators, so be sure you can carry your suitcases. It is also a bit loud so earplugs would be good. We would have loved to take a dip in the pool, but time didn't allow. It was beautiful and warm!

    Nice appearance, but

    rating26 Jul 2019

Beautilful and charming ancient building from the 15th century with huge surrounding garden and free parking but...Many stairs so not suitable for people with disabilities of walking - no liftThe restaurant of the hotel was closed during our stay which they didn't tell us when we booked our rooms so we had to go to a restaurant down the street.Mattresses too softA/C worked well which was essential since it was 41 degrees Celsius outside (105,8 degrees Fahrenheit), however too noisy.Rooms not too bigPhones were old and didn't workOnly 4-5 tv channels availableNot too much to choose from at breakfast buffet - no international breakfast
