Basic and simple not the star rating it claims to be sadly

    rating24 Sept 2025

Not one of the best Jet2 hotels we’ve been in , it resembles a European butlins in all honesty . Arrived at mid morning and couldn’t get into our room untilLate afternoon . So we decided to have a walk along the beach . Everything was closed , bars packing up for the winter . We thought end of season would be next week . We had a nice walk and everything was derelict ,the marina is a bus ride away or if you’re feeling active a nice walk but would take around 30 mins to walk . The hotel is in need of a refurb I won’t lie . But saying this the room was clean and pleasant, gardens well kept , small play area for children and pool was clean but small. I can imagine if you’re spending all day around the pool it can get busy in the summer . Pool bar nice and staff really nice. We were bed and breakfast and it is very basic with limited items . Small bread section , fruit that is not refrigerated so was going off at times , the hot items were bacon small sausage and scrambled egg which I’m sure was powered egg as it was awful . Hard boiled eggs also. I never tried the meats as they looked abit questionable in my opinion, Yogurt’s cheese ham and pastries . The coffee machine there is only one and dispensed the smallest cup of coffee . Fruit juice selection ok and water . We had one evening meal in the night we arrived and paid €35 each for a buffet style meal . Was nice the pasta was nice and pizza , beef was like rubber mind and veg was cold cauliflower, spinach and noisette potatoes again all cold . This was a one off as we ate out every other night after that in Pisa and Florence . To get to Pisa the cheapest way is to buy return bus tickets from the local tobacconist along the road about a five minute walk . €8 for two people return. To get to Florence you’ll need again return bus tickets and return train tickets . These can be bought at the train station €37 for two people return . Get the express train as it takes less time about an hour the n the other one which is about two hours . In Pisa you can buy tickets for all the attractions. cathedral the tower and other things around that area . Also use your ticket to use the toilets as it’s €1 to use it if you don’t have the ticket .Overall a basic stay , the hotel is isolated as people have said and you’ll need to use public transport to get around . We didn’t come to Pisa to sit around a pool all day as that’s not our thing so we always try to explore . But Jet2 I think you need to be more honest with customers about this hotel as it’s certainly not 4/5 star and food is basic with limited choice. We won’t be returning to this hotel if we came to Pisa again . Sorry . I think it needs some money invested. Check in staff ok but when I asked about bus times etc or information she shrugged her shoulders so not much use there .

The location of this hotel was not as described in the holiday review. We were isolated and at the mercy of an irregular bus service and expensive taxis. Yes the beach was 300metres away, the shack on the beach La Siesta did not come over as welcoming and although a beautiful beach there were no clear guidelines for swimming plus dog owners not so good at clearing up after their animals. There was no promenade with wine bars or bistro just half demolished buildings surrounded by fences and warning signs, the area looked well past its best days. The hotel staff in Reception were not helpful and some quite abrupt and rude at times, they printed off bus timetables but failed to inform us of a transport strike so wasted an hour waiting for a bus that never came. The restaurant staff were the opposite, they welcomed us, they were friendly, the service and the food was very good and were always willing to explain what the food was. The housekeeping staff were friendly as well. Our room was nothing as described, it was dark, and very tired. We had a dog near us and it constantly barked plus people were moving furniture at all hours. After speaking to other people the rooms pictured on the website were non existent. There was nothing to do in the evenings, no where in walking distance and the few little shops that were in the local square shut at 8pm. We never saw the pizzeria open or the fish restaurant, the pharmacy was open every other day and the supermarket closed at 8pm. There was no where in walking distance that we could go to. The buses appeared to stop running around 8.30pm so if you did want to venture out you had to get a taxi which after speaking to othe people it was between €50-€90 to get back to our hotel. The whole area surrounding the hotel looked like it had been bombed, half constructed, demolished buildings, rat traps all along the pavements. The bus time table was laughable, buses missed out, buses that terminated in a nearby village resulting in us having to walk for 55 minutes to get back as there was no other option available. We did manage to get to Pisa and we also managed to get to Florence on the train with the help of some amazing staff in the tain stations on Pisa and Florence. This holiday was not cheap, my friend and I had looked forward to it very much but sadly came home very disappointed.

    Don't worry

    rating21 Sept 2025

We returned from this hotel yesterday after a 10 night stay.We are a couple in our 40's we had the half board option and our original room should of been the double superior but we were upgraded on arrival to a deluxe room. We hired a car from Pisa airport for 5 days to travel the region. We were initially very worried about coming to this hotel due to all the less positive reviews it had been gaining since we booked last year! So, on arrival, we were there by approx 11am, as we had previously read, we knew our room would not be available until 4pm so we left our luggage and took a ticket off the front desk for the beach loungers. We hadn't even been away from the desk for 10 minutes when we received a call to say everything was ready now! We unpacked and went for a walk around the grounds and local area including the beach before coming back and going to the pool for the afternoon. No one asked us to wear swimming caps during our whole 10 days.(we swam 3 days) We found all the staff to be friendly, especially in the dining room, we had excellent service and the staff were always ready to ask about your day and let you know about their recommendations for food or days out. Occasionally the food could be on the colder side if you weren't at the dining room for first service at 07:00 for breakfast or 19:30 for tea(dinner) We found all options varied and suitable, at breakfast there was always options of Cereals and milks4 bread optionsCrackersBiscuitsCheeseSalamiSalad itemsAt least 4 cake/torte optionsPancakes (these were exceptional with the syrup and cooked proccusio)3-4 different Cornetto(italian equivalent of the croissant) And a massive fruit platter as well as mini sausages, scrambled and boiled eggs. The foccacia bread at breakfast was the nicest bread I've had, just so delicious! Onto the tea options, there was always the antipasti, meats, cheeses, little bowls with salads and dressed meats, cous cous, a whole salad bar, breads and pizza squares, 3 pasta options all always very tasty and 3-4 meat options, they had a vegetarian option every night and again just overwhelming on all available. The butter and sage pasta and gnocchi dishes were stand out for me as well as the meat ribs and the courgette flowers in tempura batter were fantastic, at dessert there was always fresh fruits at least 4 types and 2 different cakes, I only ate/tried one cake as I'm more savoury, but Iove tiramasu and it was hands down the best tiramasu I've ever had, and I tried it on 3 nights and it was always just as nice! Well done to the kitchen team. The grounds were beautiful and the guest areas were well maintained. The pool was clean and again well maintained. Our room as straighted up every day, fresh towels and the bed made up, they must of been doing the floors too as I have very long hair and did not see any anywhere! For what we wanted, this hotel delivered, we found ourselves perplexed at the negative comments wondering if there was something wrong with us or if we had low expectations? We would not bring young family here as it's not that type of hotel, there is no entertainment and maybe they could have a singer on at night? We had a clean well functioning base for the area, we visited Livorno and Pisa by bus very easily with the number 10 outside by the church, tap on tap off the buses or buy tickets on the at bus app.We drove to Florence, sienna and Lucca and parked our car on the road outside the hotel which was not too busy when we went, it's worth noting the spaces are free after 15th September and €6 a day before. (Unless you can get the free bit in the road) There is a large square of shops in front of the hotel called elipolli,it has a Conrad supermarket, a Mappa Mondo supplies shop for anything and everything, a shoe shop, art gallery, surf shop, armai clothes shop, a church, 4 cafes/restaurants, a pharmacy and a gelato shop it's worth noting they seem to make up their own opening hours but they were all shut between 1-4pm on some days (except the conrad) With us being half board we didn't eat at any of the places other than the hotel or in Pisa and Sienna. We did get talking to people who did not like their experiences at the hotel but they weren't in our block of rooms. Overall we enjoyed our base being this hotel, we wernt there in the day long enough to find fault .there was something in the cleaning products they used that made me sneeze every single day I entered the room and I would recommend ear plugs as for 3 nights when we got there, someone had a dog in our block and it never stopped yapping and making squealing noises. But as for the general hotel and area, if you have a car especially it was a good base for our beautiful Tuscan holiday! We thank the hotel for the free upgrade as the balcony made a big difference to me being able to escape whatever was setting off my allergies/asthma in the room also great to have somewhere to hang swim stuff. There is a kettle in the room but they did not top up the sachets after the first day. (We had already brought our own) . 4/5 given just for minor details.

Not one of the better hotels to stay

    rating16 Sept 2025

We arrived at this hotel at 11am and was told by reception that our room would not be ready until 4pm, we therefore decided to kill the time by exploring the area. There is a supermarket right outside the hotel and the beach is about a 5 minute walk with a good beach bar. Unfortunately we could not find any decent restaurants nearby unless you want burgers, hot dogs or pizza, we did try one that looked 'Italian', however the pasta dishes we had were tasteless. The nearest decent restaurant is about a 20/25 minute walk away or you can get a bus into Terrenia. The hotel grounds are well kept and the pool and pool bar are lovely. We had cereal and toast each morning for breakfast mainly because the bacon and sausages were not covered and when I felt the serving dishes they were cold.Towards the end of our weeks holiday we started to itch on our hands, feet and at the back of our knees, thankfully the itching stopped 3 days after we came home. The best part of the holiday was our visits to Piza, Florence and Lucca which I highly recommend.

    Budget no frills and quiet

    rating14 Sept 2025

If you stay here be prepared to get a bus or have a 20 minute walk to a decent restaurant Be aware the hotel restaurant charges £35 per person per night for a hot /cold buffet who for a normal person we did not feel was value for money to eat there every night so if you plan to eat there it might be better to go half board. The beach is only 400m across the road and is lovely and it’s nice to get complimentary passes for bagno la siesta so you avoid the £30 per day charge (just collect from reception each day) The rooms are basic and were cleaned daily but they could do with a really deep clean so hopefully when they open next season it will be better. They only provide paper cups and there were not replaced which maybe an issue for some (failing that there is a hardware store next door buy a cheap mug)The fridge is a good size and the supermarket in the complex in front of the hotel has lots of choice. The reception staff need to be a little bit more friendly being the first point of contact and they are not forthcoming with information The pool area is lovely and the staff there are really friendly and you can buy bar snacks for lunch which were nice. The no 10 bus takes you to Livorno or pisa and you can buy the tickets at the local tobacconist a few minutes up the road and the stop is outside.Final advice be prepared for mosquitoes there’s hundreds and they are hungry I hope this is a useful review holiday an are what you make it but this is not a destination I would return back to. Oh and if you land early be prepared the room won’t be ready till 4pm which jet 2 fail to advise
