We were supposed to stay here but as there are no staff on site snd it looked deserted and every door was locked including the entrance we didn’t. We had to go to another hotel to check in to it and were told we’d be sleeping at the Ariae but that breakfast was down the road at a different hotel and no staff are on site. We asked to stay at the one where we checked in as we didn’t want to go to a different hotel for breakfast. We stayed at this hotel (The Palace) fortunately only 2 nights. What a disaster!!! Very odd set up there. Apparently the Ariae and the Palace are part of same chain. Breakfast was almost non existent. Beware. Dilapidated. Palace staff were very nice though so can’t fault them.

Very nice , very clean and charming place ! Very well located , few steps to padre pio shrine .. need to walk up on the hill but everything is perfect ! Delicious breakfast!!! Will definitely come back again !! :)

We came to visit Padre Pio Cathedral and stayed in Ariae Hotel-

1st night - Location is really good if your Athletic, need to do lots of treadmill exercise specially going up - Elderly, its difficult for them to climb-up the main road leading to church. if you have a car much better or the next option was to get a taxi which you need to pay 7 euros going to church- Aircon not working properly- no option but to open the terrace door to keep the room cool. Reported to the reception but no action done.2nd day- breakfast in the ground floor -limited choices- - Staff is good - still I need to learn italian language. - Rooms are tidy....

Great Staff ! Great Hotel in San Giovanni Rotondo

Like many other travelers on this site, I have stayed in many hotels. The Ariae Hotel However, really stands out when it comes to service. The staff here were very attentive to our needs, and helped to fulfill our requests including placing a local call in order to assist with the language barrier. The staff here really appears dedicated to their clients and their well-being while staying at this hotel. I did not eat dinner here, but the breakfast, in this small town, provided a good variety for all tastes. I would stay at this hotel again when we return to SGR.

When I forgot my bag on the public bus to San Giovanni, I told the hotel what happened at check in, they call the bus company went out of their way to retreat my lost bag. It’s was a miracle I got my bag 2 hours later. The hotel was clean and had a wonderful breakfast. Location was excellent to visit Padre Pio shines.
