    Excellent staff, hotel needs renovation

    The hotel was certainly a Grand hotel in it's time, but it is in dear need of investment to bring it back to it's original splendour, with it's etched glass and Murano chandeliers. The staff does it's best to ensure an agreeable stay. Extra (very outdated) towels to contain the shower wall leak, plenty of soap, which is NOT of 4 star standard, which we did not use, etc... The breakfast is mediocre, but the garden filled with chirping birds is charming. Veronica is exceptional: she has a sixth sense that creates a welcoming and comforting breakfast environment. Chapeau bas to her professionalism and genuine caring for guests. I hope to see the same wonderful staff, but with a renovation this hotel deserves: now that would be an exceptional experience.

    Best aspect of this hotel was the size of the room, it was huge and allowed us to live easily out of our cases. In addition the bed was a super king, really big. It was well located, a few minutes walk from the historic centre boundaries, lots of great bars on the route home. Parking is 15 euro a night in their garage. Breakfast was really poor, we only went the once and didnt bother again, the hotel should provide coffee machines in the room and get rid of the breakfast service completely. The pool was closed for our stay in May. I have a lot of respect for people who operate historic buildings as hotels, its not cheap to heat them, cool them, clean them, and the small team there were doing their best. I'm not put off by things that are old but this hotel is in dire need of investment and shouldn't be advertising as a 4 star hotel. It sure was in its day, you can tell, but not anymore.

    Grand Hotel di Lecce has Murano Glass chandeliers and period furniture and beautiful sitting areas. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast buffet had scrambled eggs and an impressive array of tarts and cakes.

    The hotel and its staff were wonderful. Beautiful decor, a gorgeous building, huge rooms lots of little sitting rooms to go relax in.

    This hotel is exceptional in decor, cleanliness and staff helpfulness. The breakfast was so far beyond what we expected!We will definitely come back
