  POSITIVES: Location is awesome; we walked to/from the train station, to the beach, all over old town, to St. Nicholas church, the shopping district, etc. If you’re a light sleeper, although the doors/windows are sealed extremely well, the nightlife in the parking lot a stone’s throw from the room may keep you awake. We were up one level in the Marilyn Monroe room and having a balcony was lovely, as long as no one was smoking directly beneath (everybody smokes there!). We even attended mass at the beautiful and intimate church nextdoor. Water pressure is great and plenty of hot water.ISSUES UNIQUE TO MARILYN MONROE ROOM: ants in the bathroom and by the refrigerator; the refrigerator did not reach “cold” at all; the ottoman by the refrigerator was stained and so dirty, it set the tone of the room as did the bedspread which was also stained and appeared dirty. the toilet would only flush once and then run and run and run all day - whether 1 or 2 was flushed. We booked 4 days and there was 1 full and 1/2 roll of TP. There were NO TOILETRIES in the basket in the bathroom, as shown in the photo provided by TT.Compared with other B&Bs in Italy, “BREAKFAST” is not the correct term for what was provided: tea bags, sugar, NO INSTANT COFFEE, jam and little packaged toast.SUMMARY: Location is great but we are seasoned travelers and would not stay here again.

  I phoned Thursday 20th February to confirm our arrival for 22nd February ( as our flight got in at 7.20pm) to be told our accommodation was cancelled. Total inconvenience. Money was refunded but gave no assistance whatsoever in finding alternative accommodation. Just not good enough. -1*.

  Booked a room through LateRooms. No answer at the property. Eventually I was rescued by a group of locals who were sitting outside the church observing my failure to get into the B&B. One of them eventually got the owner of the TorreTresca on the phone - he was out of town and had no intention of honouring the booking (although he admitted he had received it). I would have been stranded in Bari, but for the kindness of Maria, her two sisters and a collection of friends, grannies and their granddaughters who called on every B&B and hotel in the neighbourhood until they found one with a bed for the night.

  Un-negotiable €40 late fee for check in

  €40 late fee for check in after 7pm, and you must be out by 10am, the room was nice but needed a much better cleaning. The staff was nice also, but I wouldn't recommend staying here, it's not always possible to be checked in before 7pm.

  Torre Tresca is a great little BnB just on the edge of the old tow. Antonio, the owner/manager was very welcoming and took us on an impromptu tour of the old town, including buying us a polenta snack of the region. He was not on site here, but was available via text or what's app. We were the only guests fit the 3 days, with the Audrey Hepburn room on the second floor. Stairs are steep and narrow, do if you are not a stair person, request the room on the ground floor. Balconies are nice on the upper floors with views. Bed and pillows were good, nice hot shower and good Wi-Fi. Breakfast is typical Italian in a cafe nearby. Would definitely recommend.
