Hotel Centrale Byron is in an excellent location, right in the heart of Ravenna, which makes it perfect for exploring the city on foot. The breakfast was very good with plenty of choice, and the staff were always friendly and helpful. Overall, I had a pleasant stay and I would definitely recommend this hotel.

A 5-Star Stay at Hotel Centrale Byron in Ravenna

    rating10 Aug 2025

Despite its 3-star rating, I'm giving Hotel Centrale Byron a 5-star review thanks to its excellent communication, comfortable accommodations, prime location, and exceptional staff. We only stayed for one night before our cruise, but our experience was fantastic from start to finish. Before our arrival, I contacted the hotel about transportation to the cruise port. They not only provided helpful suggestions for our pre-cruise trip but also proactively offered advice for getting from the port to the train station after our cruise, which was a thoughtful and helpful touch. The staff at the front desk was a highlight of our stay—friendlier and more welcoming than many we've encountered at other European hotels. Our room was clean and simple, providing everything we needed for a comfortable stay. While the amenities are typical for a European hotel, the overall quality and service more than made up for it.The hotel's location is a definite favorite. We were within easy walking distance of Ravenna's city center, allowing us to see many landmarks, churches, and museums and explore the local shops and restaurants, even with our limited time. The hotel also offers a great breakfast, which was a convenient and appreciated bonus.Overall, it was a perfect stay. We would absolutely choose Hotel Centrale Byron again for our next cruise.

    Centrally located with nice staff

    rating30 Nov 2024

I really enjoyed staying at the hotel Centrale Byron as the reception staff was very welcoming, helpful and multilingual. Even the cleaning lady was cheerful which made me feelvery welcome. The hotel’s location in the historic city centre is perfect for exploring the sights, shopping and eating out (the mercato coperto with its bars & restaurants is just around the corner). The train station is a 8-10min walk away. The room was practical & convenient: the furniture was not the most modern but well maintained and there was a desk, a fridge, a haidryer and a small tv.The bath room was tiny and I had to wiggle around the door to reach the sink. But everything was sparkling clean. My single room had a proper small single bed — something I only know from Italy. I slept well, though. The only thing that was a bit negative was that you could hear your room neighbours through the walls.Breakfast was served with a choice if cereals, jams, cold cuts & cheeses, breads and croissants as well as real Italian café prepared freshly.

    Just keep looking.....

    rating22 Oct 2024

This hotel is well located, to be sure. That's pretty much where it ends. We were in Room 12, which faces into an open courtyard surrounded by walls up to 4 or 5 stories tall. We were there in October. There are stairs after every elevator stop to the rooms. The bathroom we had did not have a walk in shower - I do not know if any are available. Hotels with air conditioning tend to shut it off after the summer, at least for the evening. That's just what happened. It was hot and humid when we were there, and because the air conditioning (which did NOT work all that well anyway...) was shut off, we opened the windows. MISTAKE. There is a restaurant whose backdoor is right in the echo tunnel of the open courtyard. Needless to say, this NOISE goes on until around 11:30 or so. Just because a restaurant is closed does not mean there are not employees still there setting up for the next day and/or cleaning things up from the latest shift. On our second night there, I heard someone banging very loudly on their window (which also faced the same way ours did) for the noise to stop. If a hotel is not going to run the air conditioning, and the only way to sleep is to open the windows, NOISE should not be a factor. Evidently it is also a factor with street facing rooms (ours was not). The breakfast is not very good. NO selection of anything hot. They will bring out cheese and deli meats if you ask, but if you don't know to ask, you don't get them. We knew because we watched it happen on our second day. I complained about the noise/lack of air conditioning/no remedy to no avail, except a meager 8 Euro discount on the room???? Really???? We found the breaksfast staff to be very nice and the housekeeping staff to be very nice as well. We did not have as much luck with the front of the house staff.

    Clean Hotel. Great Staff.

    rating09 Oct 2024

Our hotel room and en suite bathroom were large and clean. The shower was large and had plenty of hot water and water pressure. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The room and common areas are dated. The staff here is exceptionally helpful and friendly.
