Great place to stay before a cruise

A really lovely hotel but the stars of the show are the staff on the main desk. They were so helpful and professional. Spotlessly clean, a nice breakfast, which is a rarity in Italian hotels. The bed was super comfortable, I don't think I woke up all night. Lots of gorgeous places to walk around the area. We didn't hear a sound all night. Cruise transfers pick up from right outside.

Frustrating Stay

I arrived late after an exhausting day of travel, made even longer by a four-hour delay waiting for my luggage.As a female traveler, I found the hotel to be clean (though incredibly dated) and felt safe during my stay. The front desk attendant was genuinely kind and welcoming, but he appeared to be working alone, and the hotel could benefit from additional staff.The entrance has stairs, and there was no assistance with luggage. Guests are also required to leave their room key at the front desk whenever they leave the hotel, which is inconvenient when service is slow due to understaffing.My room (403) felt dated and smelled like broccoli. The mattress was very hard, and the bedspread felt more like a curtain than a blanket. The bathroom was extremely small, and the shower was barely large enough to turn around in. During my stay at the end of a heatwave, the air conditioning struggled to keep the room cool and comfortable.Breakfast was disappointing. Several items that should have been served hot were only at room temperature, raising food safety concerns.Overall, the hotel was clean, but it is overdue for modernization. Updated rooms, modern electrical outlets and charging options, improved climate control, additional staffing, and better attention to breakfast food temperatures would make for a much more comfortable stay. One final note: taxis can have difficulty navigating to the hotel because of the surrounding pedestrian-only streets, so plan accordingly when arriving or departing.

Conveniently placed mid range hotel. Unfussy and well situated for the majority of the sites in Ravenna worth visiting. About 10 mins walk from the station. Rooms comfortable and unfussy with few frills. Good showers and beds and reasonably priced.

Hotel manager was outstanding

Though I did not get to stay in the hotel, the hotel manager was very helpful. I was lost and could not find my car. I knew I had parked my car across from a police station. This wonderful man helped me map all the close police stations and labeled them on a map he gave me. Without his kind patience, I would still be lost. I have no doubt the rest of the hotel is as lovely as the manager.

The hotel was a 5 min. walk to the cathedrals/baptistries to see the famous mosaics and a fabulous restaurant for dinner was a block away. the room was small, about the size of a verandah cabin on a cruise ship. we had 2 beds - comfortable - a medium firm mattress. A typical Italian buffet breakfast incl. -- cold cuts, cheese slices, 5 bread (croissants, Danishes, rye bread, white, wholewheat, ) fruit juices, yogurts (fruit and plain) cereal and milks, fresh fruit. Coffee bar where u can order tea or coffee. The coffee was dark and rich, kinda like Lavazza. Open 6:30 - 10 am.Front desk staff helpful and polite. Wake up calls available. Called a driver/car for us upon check out. FYI - very few taxis. We stayed 3 nites-- $580 CAD. Reccommended.
