    Committed staff and personal touch

    rating07 May 2026

I can highly recommend Hotel Anfiteatro Flavio. We were two women and two boys aged eleven who stayed there for three nights in May. It is a slightly smaller hotel with a personal and warm welcome from the staff. During our stay we had an incident with a lost stuffed animal - Mr. Rabbit. We then received invaluable help from the dedicated hotel staff - special thanks to Misca and Martina - they really committed themselves to finding and returning our stuffed animal. Thank you!

Such a beautiful Rome, and such a terrible hotel!

    rating03 Nov 2024

Good in this "hotel" only the location and beautiful Camila at the reception! So what kind of "3-star hotel" is this?! Not serious at all! And where is the Italian Hotel Association looking?! Old rooms 100 years-old without renovation! And besides, the cleaning is bad! Shame on you!

    Great location

    rating01 Jul 2024

Fantastic location, plenty of good bars/restaurants very close by so you don’t need to venture far for good food. Also with the area being more “bustling” it felt a safe area to walk about at night.Short walk to the colosseum.Area is very hilly, get a taxi if you have mobility issues. 10 minute walk from nearest metro.Room was a decent size for a 3 star. Air con was great. Rooms cleaned every day with clean towels.Shower is very small, not a lot of room to move about but fine for a quick shower.Staff were very friendly and helpful. The bar area is pretty non existent, don’t even think it was open during my stay. Also didn’t get to use the rooftop bar. It was locked every time I went up.Lift is small but fits one person and a case so just go up one at a time. The building is centuries old so that’s not unusual.Continental breakfast served every morning was a decent selection of pastries, cereals, cheese etc

Moldy bathroom, unusable shower, no wifi

    rating18 Jun 2024

Given its location and price, I’d recommend staying maximum one night here if you have a quick stay in Roma, depending on how much you’re willing to tolerate. My brother and I stayed here one night and that was more than enough.I’ll start with the positives here - rooms are air conditioned, there is an elevator, the staff is friendly and accommodating - they gave us a map with a list of recommendations upon arrival and after check out we were able to keep our luggage with them and have it stored securely with the ability to come in and out as needed to drop stuff off. They also arranged a taxi to pick us up at a specific time upon our request. Now for the not so greats - we stayed in one of the apartment units across the street and the bathroom was covered in mold. In the toilet, in the tile cracks on the floor, in the shower, etc. There was no hot water for our showers and the shower head also didn’t work for more than putting out a tiny sprinkle so showering was extremely difficult. When we told staff the issue they said they’d look into it and thanked us for letting them know but no apology or offer to make up for freezing showers with absolutely no water pressure. The wifi also did not work at all in our apartment unit and it seems like the main building equally has issues with wifi connection with an iPhone. Most of the furniture on the rooftop garden was also broken or unusable. It just seems like the staff doesn’t take much pride in the appearance of the hotel either. All in all, if you can find a place in this location for a similar price and better reviews, definitely take it.

    Happy we found this hotel

    rating15 Jun 2024

A good hotel close to Colosseum and rather close to train station (take a taxi - a bit hilly walk). Clean room and comfortable bed. For breakfast there was coffee, tea, juice, bread, ham, cheese, jam, croissant and yoghurt. (No gluten free bread so bring your own.) The receptionists was very helpful and gave us a map where she marked out nice areas to visit.
