Personal Experience of a Seasoned Traveller

    rating29 Jan 2026

I have only just read some of the reviews for this hotel after booking & staying & tbh, I am not sure what hotel they were staying in but our experiences differed greatly!Firstly, overpriced? £120 for 2 nights on a weekend isn’t what I would call overpriced considering there were other hotels within a 30 second walk that were changing £200+ for the same dates/room size/no breakfast that looked in alot worse shape than this hotel. Secondly, dimly lit & no air?? WHAT?? I suspect my room was the same as all the others & I was on the 5th floor! Huge windows that let in plenty of light, windows actually open quite wide so you can let in fresh air when you want - yes the room is warm but it’s January, I would expect nothing less. The room had; Heavy curtains with blackout lining, very comfortable bed, decent pillows, complimentary water, mini fridge, decent wardrobe space & a safe. The bathroom has decent shower pressure as well which is always a pleasant surprise and you can see the hotel is trying to make an effort; slippers in the room if needed (the floor was tiled so this was a nice touch) toothbrushes, shaving kit & a dental kit just incase (a lot of other hotels I have stayed in that are 4* haven’t offered this) The staff on reception were very friendly (if they weren’t maybe it’s you & not them), explained about the city tax to be paid, the breakfast times (I was even told I could take a look at the breakfast in the morning before deciding whether I wanted to add it on as an extra), confirmed they had luggage storage I could use & I could leave the key at the reception when I went out if I wanted (the keyring is quite heavy). The location is literally a stones throw away from Roma Termini station so is in the perfect location for transport, there is also several restaurants, cafe’s & patisseries within a minute walk as well as convenient stores & a pharmacy. They are currently doing some work on the hotel but I received an email notification weeks before I arrived & another one about a week before my stay as well - I take the view that you get what you pay for, on this occasion I am pleasantly surprised with what I got for the price - personally I would take the negative reviews with a pinch of salt (also most of them have only ever left this negative review which again says more about them & their expectations rather than the hotel being at fault)

    Liars,liars, liars

    rating09 May 2025

I had high expectations since this hotel was close to another hotel that we stayed that was good! From the first day we found the room warm but thought that maybe because they left the window open? We went out and when we came the room was warm! I went to the reception since they didn’t answer and told them about the situation! They sent someone from maintenance and he told me that the ac was turned off? We slept sweating! The next day when we got back I found the same problem and asked to speak to a manager! Get Ready This manager told me that the ac is a central system and they only turn it between 6pm and 12am!This place is a dump full of liars from the front desk to the people that served breakfast! You ask every day for orange juice! No more oranges! Miserable liars horrible people! I felt unsafe and took all my money with me and valuables! DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

Excellent staff and service, but the room was sad.

    rating30 Apr 2025

The staff at this hotel truly deserves praise—reception and cleaning services were impeccable. However, I’m not sure what kind of architecture or renovation firm they’ve hired over time, but it seems like they’re cutting corners and not doing the job properly. The elevators were strange and didn’t stop on all floors, and the steep stairs turned my stay into a daily Pilates session—not ideal if you’re over 70. The bathroom tiles didn’t match in a coherent way, the bidet was more of a nuisance than a help, and it didn’t add to the comfort or safety of the room. The bed was uncomfortable—two singles pushed together with no headboard—and I kept waking up feeling like I was about to fall into the crack between them. And that wasn’t even the worst part. The room’s only window was tiny (about 40x100 cm), placed 140 cm above the floor. The lack of natural light and ventilation made the room stuffy and dim. In theory, that might help with outside noise, but not even that worked—the sound of rain pounding the atrium roof kept me awake at night.Overall, the room was outdated, poorly ventilated, dark, and lacked comfort. On the bright side, the TV and minibar worked well. The breakfast was ok.

    Don't go in this hotel

    rating22 Mar 2025

Family of 2 adults and 2 kids got two rooms at the opposite sides of the floor. Rooms were tiny with small windows without any air. We had to run in the labirynth of corridors to find our kids at the other end. We had no space in the rooms even for our suitcases. No internet connection in the rooms. Very old furniture and bath facilities. No minibar. Brekfast was poor and not sufficient for all the guests

    Rome for the rugby

    rating15 Mar 2025

This hotel gets a lot of negative reviews but we found it to be ideal for our needs. We were in Rome for 2 nights. The location is excellent, the room was small but were clean and the room was serviced every day. Staff were lovely. No complaints at all.
