Overpriced room and serious data privacy/phishing concerns

    rating28 May 2026

I recently stayed at Best Western Hotel Piccadilly for 2 nights, paying £150 per night, and I am highly disappointed with the management's response to security and the quality of the facilities.First and most importantly, there is a serious data security issue. Before my arrival, my personal details (name, phone number, and exact travel dates) were leaked, resulting in a targeted phishing attempt via WhatsApp. I emailed the hotel twice to warn them, but received no reply. When the issue was raised directly with the hotel staff, it was noted, but there was a complete lack of follow-up, reassurance, or even a basic apology from the management regarding the data leak. Ignoring a guest's concern about data privacy is highly unprofessional. As for the hotel itself, it offers very poor value for money. The room was extremely small (practically the size of a matchbox) with outdated furniture. The bathroom was uncomfortably narrow, and the shower cabin was defective, leaking water heavily onto the floor during every shower. The only positive note is the excellent location and the nice local restaurants nearby, but this definitely does not justify the premium price and the complete lack of proper customer care and maintenance. I will not be returning.

A little detached from the centre of Rome, which is perfect!

    rating19 May 2026

Lovely hotel 2 metro stops from termini and ideally located a 5 minute walk from San Giovanni metro station. It is also a 5 minute walk from Basilica di San Giovanni, which is the global head church of Catholicism! We loved that it was detached from the hustle and hustle of the city centre, and it meant we got a bit more of an authentic Italian experience, getting to eat at local restaurants full of Italians and not paying central Rome prices. We also found it best value to get a 72hr metro pass as you're always a metro away from the attractions of Rome. The hotel itself was clean and full of friendly staff. The room itself was a hotel room: clean and simple. The bathroom however was the stand-out with a rainfall shower and a funky glass sink! We also had a balcony room on the 7th floor which offered incredible views. We booked bed and breakfast and the breakfast buffet was incredible with a rotating daily selection of pastries and a pancake machine. You can also order coffee, as well as use their Nespresso machine and thermos of black coffee. We also had a complimentary welcome drink in the hotel bar (the reception area) which came with a complimentary selection of nibbles. Overall, very happy with our stay! NB it was €55 in a white taxi from Fiumicino.

    Comfortable stay

    rating30 Mar 2026

Really nice hotel i found the 2nd floor room really small, so they transfered us to the 7th floor which had alot more space....shame they do not cater for dinner only breakfast, be aware they do not have a shuttle service to the airport from the hotel..but the staff was really friendly, we had a complimentary free drink and nibbles...I would say the hotel was a 3 star not a 4 stars...but overall it was comfortable....

Great value for money even if a little out of the city

    rating26 Mar 2026

Despite an issue with Room 409 on arrival (temperature in room was 27 degrees Mid-March at 22:00) we had a good stay. Thanks to Julie on Reception, we were moved to Room 802 (next to the breakfast room) which was a much bigger room on the back of the hotel with a fantastic view over the city. Despite the décor in the room being a little dated the bed was very comfy; and the room/bathroom were cleaned everyday to a high standard with fresh towels and beds made.Breakfast was good with a great selection of pastries (loved the ricotta pie), cakes, cheeses, cereals, breads and scrambled egg.We bought the 7 day metro ticket for 28 Euros and caught the metro (there are two stations within a 6 minute walk) or the 360 Bus from across the road to get to most places. We also combined this with lots of walking to make the most of our trip. Beware of pickpockets on the Metro around Termini. On arrival at the Airport, we used the Leonardo Express (14 Euros single) and the Metro Line A (3 stops) to get to the Hotel, however, it was worth the 55 Euro Taxi fare (booked through the hotel) back to the Airport to avoid the stairs at the stations (carrying suitcases) and the uneven payments from San Giovani Station and the risk of being pick pocketed on the Metro). The staff are very friendly and accommodating and were happy to answer our questions and provided us with a map of the city. Tip – be prepared for lack of drawers and hangers in wardrobe for clothing. Try Valentines over the Square. Great cakes, sandwiches, value for money and staff so friendly.
