Location

This hotel is quietly situated yet lies right at the heart of the city. Stazione Termini main train station, St. Maria Maggiore and the famous, popular opera house are, for example, only around 2 minutes from the hotel. Further important places and streets, such as the Foro Romano or the Via Veneto are also within excellent range, around 1 km away. The National Museum is around 10 minutes away. Through its central location it is an ideal starting point for extensive shopping tours or sightseeing in the everlasting city.

Facility

65 single rooms and 170 double rooms are located on 8 storeys and can be reached by lift. The friendly staff at the reception desk are happy to answer any questions. A cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service, cash machine and drinks machine are available. Wireless internet access in public areas allows guests to stay connected. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. The hotel has wheelchair-accessible facilities. There are a number of shops as well. A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air. Additional facilities include a TV room. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage (for a fee) or in the car park (for a fee). Rooms

Air conditioning and central heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. Guests can enjoy the view of the city from a balcony or terrace. The rooms have a double bed and a sofa bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. Additional features include a refrigerator and a tea/coffee station. An ironing set is provided for guests' convenience. A direct dial telephone, satellite television, a radio, an alarm clock and WiFi are provided as well. Bathrooms are equipped with a shower, a bathtub and a bidet.     We had an amazing experience at the Best Western Plus Hotel Universo. It was very clean, friendly and helpful staff. We were leaving for the airport before the breakfast opened so they made us "go" bags of food/drink. The roof top bar was amazing and delicious. It was the perfect way to end our trip.     We stayed here for one night.Pros:- close to Termini, safe neighborhood, quiet, lots of restaurants and shops nearby- kind and helpful staff- comfortable room- good AC- great shower (water pressure and amenities)- lots of counter space in bathroom- great amenities in the room- good price booking directly on the hotel’s websiteCons:- I recommend asking for a room not facing the street. I don’t know if each night is the same, but we were woken up many times by garbage truck, truck cleaning the street, etc.I would stay here again with a room not overlooking the street.     I had a single room for five nights. The room was very clean and housekeeping did an excellent job during my stay. The shower was a good size and the bathroom vanity had plenty of counter space to unpack my toiletries. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The staff was friendly and provided recommendations about things to do during my first day in Rome, which I found helpful. The breakfast buffet had a good variety of options. I booked directly with the hotel. I found the rate on the BW website to be quite a bit cheaper than on the travel sites. I read many reviews prior to booking this hotel. Some reviews mentioned that the area near Termini Station is a bit concerning. Overall, I found it to be typical of any big city. I was a solo female traveler and never felt unsafe in this area. The hotel was far enough from the station to provide a quiet environment, and yet close enough to make it easy to access the train station and metro (about an 8 minute walk) for day trips. There isn't much to do in the area considering all that Rome has to offer, but getting to the center of Rome from this hotel is an easy 15-20 minute walk if you don't want to take the metro.     Stayed at the hotel for three nights and we really enjoyed our stay. Our room was a standard double and it was comfortable and the bathroom was modern with an excellent shower. There are tea/coffee making facilities provided - and a fridge. In the corridor near the lift there was also a water dispenser. Nice touch. We asked reception for an iron - and later a fan as the room was warm (Too early in the season for the air con) - and both were provided within 5 minutes. Breakfast was superb - as was Michael - the egg Chef - always smiling and friendly. All the other staff we spoke to in the hotel were also great. Enjoyed a drink in the bar on the 7thfloor. There are also loads of bars and restaurants within a few minutes walk.
