    Excellent stay!

    rating20 Apr 2026

We had a wonderful stay! Super satisfied with this hotel.Location- Great location, 20 -25 minute walk to main tourist attractions and very close to train station. Staff- thank you to all the staff that assisted us, everyone was so kind and friendly. They even brought us breakfast in the evening for the next day since we would not have time in the morning due to early wake up. Room- super clean and comfortable, there is a mini fridge with snacks/drinks available for purchase. Activities- We did not have time to do these but looked super cool (cooking class, night walk, etc)Elevator - small elevator available so we were super happy Thank you for such a wonderful stay!

Compact Rome tourist Boutique Galatea hotel

    rating11 Nov 2025

This hotel is in a great Location for the sites/transport links, however with evening check in we eventually found the small unlit hotel sign beside a gated residential entrance. Having not had a code provided, we had to wait on a resident to open by chance and sneak in, which felt unsafe for females, even though pre-advised we were evening check in.Once in courtyard its not clear which building contains the hotel or that it was on the 3rd floor. The lift was ok, but its a bit unloved old building, and on 3rd floor you are faced with more 2 key codes after 6pm to get to the front desk also not provided upfront. The staff were very welcoming but we didnt receive twin room booked, and whilst promised the next day it was day 3 before it was sorted after repeated asking, and so I had several uncomfortable nights which wasnt acceptable especially as i had emailed requirements to double check before arrival. When we did get it to a twin the room size was ok for compact double, not for twin even in Rome, but there is only one seat in a double room and the bedside tables were for look not purpose, having a handle up the centre resulting in me knocking a drink over my phone and ruined my book trying to use table as a table!, design over function Failure. The hotel itself has few real views but we did get street view from our room, Rooms are very compact and outside of there is nowhere to sit and lounge for a moment beyond your room even. There seems to be other equally compact hotels in same complex and priority is with other hotel nearby out of hours in the group. The refreshment offering didnt supply milk or coffee nor much sugar!! but staff did provide on daily request, the daily refresh only supplied flavoured/scented tea sachets!! and only had water on arrival day, however great to have a mini fridge. On the last day the power went off and so left in dark in shower with no hairdryer, which staff were oblivious of and unapologetic for. On departure we were hit by the tourist tax hassle, better sorted at check in. I was aware of it so that wasnt the issue, but wasnt allowed free disaabled tax allowance and I was still charged despite being Disabled, clearly seen with walking aid, and my daughter was hoodwinked into using euros for this as they said it was equal rate which it most certainly wasn't so doubly out of pocket imho. There was just no negotiating regarding this. I never had this experience anywhere else in Rome, as elsewhere we were very well catered for and assisted. When I return to Rome I am not sure I would stay here again as I feel at this moment I would not get the product I paid for, I just feel disappointed, and weary from the experience. At best its an overnight place if you needed the location imho. Short Rome stay

    rating31 Oct 2025

My wife and I had a 3 day stay at this hotel in Rome at the end of a trip that included Sicily and Assisi. It is a small boutique hotel part off the BZAR CHAIN occupying the 3rd floor of a property just off Via Nazionale convenient to central Rome sites and a short walk to the metro line A Repubblica station. There is a gated entry that is locked after 6pm with a keypad entry that worked fine and a small lift to the third floor. Room was of nice size and very clean, ditto for bathroom. Room was refreshed each day and fresh towels supplied without asking. The staff was outstanding day and night, especially Jasmine who seemed to be there all the time and could not have been more helpful. Breakfast starts at 7:30 and when we informed Jasmine we would have to leave by 7am one morning to go to the Vatican she arranged for take away breakfast boxes and coffee to be ready for us at the front desk! Fantastic professional service from the entire staff during our stay! Alessia Melisi, Proprietario at Boutique Hotel Galatea, responded to this review Dear Guest, thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience, and for awarding us such a nice score! We are really happy to know that your stay with us has fully met your expectations, and that you enjoyed our services, and the central position of our hotel. Our hotel is situated on the 3rd floor of the building, and the gate closes after 11 pm. We are especially pleased to hear that you appreciated the friendliness of our staff - it is an aspect of our service in which we take great pride. Your recommendation truly means a lot to us, and we hope to welcome you again soon on your next visit to Rome! Best wishes, Boutique Hotel Galatea Team

5* service from start to finish

    rating18 Jul 2025

I had the best experience at Boutique Hotel Galatea. From start to finish the service was 5* - the staff truly went the extra mile to ensure I felt special on my birthday. They even set up balloons in my room and gave me a bottle of Prosecco which was the sweetest surprise! I also think it’s such a lovely touch that the staff refer to guests on a first name basis - truly better service than I’ve had at much more expensive ‘luxury’ hotels! Special shoutout to Jasmine on the front desk. The room itself was nicely decorated and well-equipped with great air conditioning and an extremely comfortable bed. The shower was always perfect and as someone with long hair I very much appreciated the powerful hairdryer! I can’t fault this hotel and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone visiting Rome. I will certainly be returning on my next visit to the city. 10/10 all round ⭐️ Alessia Melisi, Proprietario at Boutique Hotel Galatea, responded to this review Dear Ella,Thank you for choosing Boutique Hotel Galatea and thank you indeed for taking time to write such a wonderful review! We had a one night stay before leaving Italy. The venue is perfectly located, within walking distance of most of the main tourist sights in Rome. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, and provided great tips for sightseeing. The room was confortable and quiet and we had a great night's sleep. We will most certainly book at Hotel Galatea again based on this experience!
