    Nice Hotel

    rating27 Oct 2025

I had a great stay at this hotel with my partner. The room was clean and comfortable and there was a balcony overlooking the streets. My partner found the bed to be hard but I had no complaints. Amenities were restocked as when needed. The staff were friendly and helpful, and helped me book taxis. The location was perfect - a 2 miniute walk (if that) from the Trevi fountain. Tip - Use the SkyScanner app to check when the fountain is quiet!I’m not sure I’d say this hotel is a 4 star one, although it was certainly not bad.

Great location for a short stay

We wanted a hotel near Trevi Fountains so this was the perfect location. Room was clean. Nothing fancy but we were comfortable the one night we stayed there.

Run Down and Ridiculed by Staff!!

    rating25 Aug 2025

I had a very disappointing experience at this hotel. The property is run down, unclean, and the breakfast was unpleasant. While the man at check-in was kind, another staff member at reception was extremely rude and dismissive, which left me feeling very uncomfortable. For the price charged, the quality was unacceptable. We did not have hot water after 5 minutes and the air conditioner switched on and off all night, loudly enough to wake us up. Opening the windows was not an option due to the noise outside. One of the most concerning experiences occurred when we returned from breakfast to find our room door wide open, with a painter inside painting the walls. At that time, our passports, money, and jewellery were left unsecured in the room. No one had informed us this work would be taking place. When I raised this issue with reception (which I usually wouldn’t do), I was met with hostility and ridicule instead of concern. The staff member laughed in my face, dismissed my concerns, and failed to offer even a basic apology. At one point, reception phoned our room to tell the painter to leave, while I was watching from the hallway and the painter literally stepped over our belongings to answer the phone. When I expressed how unacceptable this was, the staff member’s response was, “Well, was anything stolen?” and, when I said no, he laughed again. He also said, “If you had a broken toilet, you’d want us to fix it, so we are painting.” Make that make sense? This response showed a complete lack of respect for guests and basic hospitality. For how expensive this place is, you would expect privacy at the bare minimum. Additionally, the bathroom was unhygienic, with stains and mould throughout. The walls were incredibly gross too. Overall, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I have had. The property itself is poorly maintained, and the staff’s attitude made the situation significantly worse. I’ve had no real response from the property with my concerns, and that is what is the most disappointing considering I’m not one to voice any complaints, but I felt completely ridiculed, dismissed and humiliated when I know for a fact, I had a valid point.

    Filthy, mold and ants. AVOID

    rating04 Jul 2025

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. I really hate writing a negative review because it can really hurt a business. But in this case it is warranted. I feel as if the business does not care, especially for the price they are charging. It is terribly run down. I wouldn't be surprised if it closed soon. There was an enormous amount of mold in our bathroom all around the shower and on the walls next to the shower. We complained and they upgraded us to a suite. then once we opened the doors to the suite, there was a giant pack of ants in the center of the bathroom floor. We called the front desk to let them know and they were not even apologetic and they sent someone up to clean them and again did not apologize. The suite was filthy. There were dead ants in the bed. It was dirty, Dusty and I don't believe the sheets were changed. Fortunately we were only staying there one more night. it is the equivalent of a cheap rundown motel yet they charge you like it's a four-star hotel.

Great Location, But That’s Where It Ends

    rating26 May 2025

We recently stayed at Hotel Boutique Trevi and sadly, our experience echoed many of the negative reviews we had read before arriving. The hotel’s location—just steps from the Trevi Fountain—is its only real strength. While it’s lovely to see the fountain once, there’s no real need to stay in the area beyond that.We had pre-paid in full for our stay through our tour company, so we arrived with expectations of at least a decent experience. At check-in, Hussein was kind and helpful, which we appreciated. However, the first room we were given was small, dark, and noticeably unclean. There was barely enough room to open our luggage, and the overall atmosphere felt neglected. When we expressed our concerns, we were offered an “upgrade” for an additional €100 per night—cash only. Hoping for something better, we paid €300 upfront for the three nights. Unfortunately, while the second room was larger, it was just as dusty, poorly maintained, and dimly lit. The shower didn’t drain properly, which made for an unpleasant experience. We ended up leaving the next day and moving to another hotel. Despite clearly not staying the full three nights, we were not offered any refund for the €300 we had paid in cash.I honestly cannot recommend Hotel Boutique Trevi. It’s not good value for money, and the condition of the rooms is well below what you’d expect for the price and the area. It’s disappointing when booking sites or agencies promote hotels that don’t meet basic standards—especially when travellers rely so heavily on these platforms.Saying the hotel is “old” isn’t a valid excuse. We are now staying in another Roman hotel that has been in operation since 1513, and it is stunning—immaculately maintained, full of charm, and incredibly comfortable. Age isn’t the problem—neglect is.There is potential here, but only if the management takes seriously the feedback that so many guests have already given. Until then, enjoy the Trevi Fountain—and find a better place to stay.
