  Hotel good for a couple nights before going somewhere else ie. cruise other part of the country

  Stayed here for a pre cruise and for the location to Rome termini and the metro cannot beat the location for these purposes The hotel itself was underwhelming breakfast was edible amenities in the lobby are non existent such as water and coffee The rooms were fine the bed comfortable and AC was great shower was small with no places for soap or shampoo.   Strange experience but great location

  Strange experience here - we wanted to stay closer to Termini on this trip to Rome so booked Hotel California...Staff were perhaps less than helpful - we checked in late, which wasn't a problem on paper for them... but were made to feel it was a problem when we arrived.En route to our rooms, we discovered a hotel within a hotel? I'm unsure how to describe it really but that's what it seemed like to us.Other than that it was a standard city centre hotel - charging a bit more than it should... but it's Rome so you let that go I suppose. Nothing food/drink-wise for us to review here just an odd experience.Oh, and staff practically insisted on holding our keycards while we ventured out to explore the city. We declined and they didn't seem too happy about it? Unsure what to say on that one as well.

  The hotel is located near Termini - I was a little sceptic about possible noise but I didn't even notice, we slept like a baby. There's a nice atmosphere in the neighbourhood with several bars and restaurants, so if you want to eat close to your hotel it would be perfect. The four person bedroom - which is why is chose the hotel in the first place - is spacious, clean for a family is worth every cent of its price! If you're looking for a very good hotel in a reasonable price range, this should be your spot. You're close to the most important neighbourhoods of Rome AND you're close to the Metro to get a little further.There are clean towels every day, and a decent breakfast! A good breakfast that keeps you going until lunch. The mattress is hard, I considered it perfect but some might think otherwise. The beds that were made and room was perfectly cleaned every day. There's a very friendly staff. The lobby and the staircase might need a little cleanup but overall it's a very clean and perfect choice for an hotel if you're interested in exploring Rome.   Second time in Rome, we have choosed again Termini zone for accomodation. And Hotel California is very well situated, nearby Santa Maria Magiore and Termini Station, walking distance to Colosseum.Spacious and clean rooms, very friendly personnel, good breakfast, even the same products every morning. Just a minus, sometimes a very bed smell due to the AC used for heating.A few good restaurants nearby, supermarket Conad inside Termini Station.Very important: Termini Station is the key point for buses and trains from or to the two airports. And to all the important points of interest of Rome.Posible to choose Hotel California again!
