    Just returned from staying at the Careval hotel. Nothing is too much for staff.,especially the male receptionist with black hair sorry i forgot your name. The breakfast is ample and lots of variety. Rooms are clean and cleaned regular with fresh towels etc.close to bus stops and metro. The hotel is reasonably priced for what you get.We had an amazing 4 days,we would stay again.

    I can’t fault the actual hotel itself. Friendly staff, clean, and good value. However, I felt it wasn’t suited to an actual holiday base in my opinion more business users. Although the hotel itself isn’t run down the area looks to be. It’s on a busy duel carriageway and a good 20 mins walk from the nearest metro station (which their metro is brilliant btw just like London Underground easy to navigate). The streets surrounding it looked rough, run down and litter strewn I didn’t feel safe after dark walking. Little by way of shops and certainly no quaint nearby streets it looks very commercial with the university nearby. Ok if you like that sort of thing but I prefer a more populated area with beautiful streets and a variety of shops nearby the sort of thing you can walk around and shop l and visit nice restaurants and bars. You can get the bus but I didn’t find it easy to navigate like the metro. Near the metro for food do check out Eataly for groceries and restaurants you can get some food gifts at good prices eg chocolates, olive oils etc. The hotel restaurant is cheap and adequate but basic and lacking in atmosphere. I felt the area lacked the real Italian experience. If quality of accommodation on a budget rather than accessibility to facilities are important to you this is a good option. I wish I’d done a little more research before booking.

    Upon arrival I was disappointed with the look of the hotel, the lobby area is ok. If you are bed and breakfast you have to go to reception every day to collect a card to hand over in the breakfast room, very strange. Room was terrible, balcony was filthy, no loo paper (which we had to ask twice for) broken shower gel container. It was very very basic and nothing like a 4 star. Asked for a quiet room which would have been impossible as the bedroom doors banged when closing. Breakfast was a make shift breakfast room with an option of fruit with flies, dry egg, or sugary pastries. No English breakfast tea. The whole experience felt very basic and the hotel is tired within the rooms. Its close to bus route. Vending machines accept euro coins only. No fridge or bottled water in rooms either. Can't use the balcony, no seating and filthy.

    I was disappointed with this hotel after reading the reviews I expected more.. the staff were quite rude only one receptionist was friendly when we were leaving..The room was small had a view of apartments so couldn't even open the curtains.. the walls had marks all over them.. one good thing was the cleaners came to give clean towels everydayThe breakfast was basic not what we expectedWe were told there was only one resteraunt open within the area on the Sunday however so many cafes were open on the other side it was very strangeI wouldn't stay here again or recommended lucky to get 2 stars

    Fantastic hotel which exceeded my expectations

    I don't usually leave reviews but I feel I want to for this hotel. I have just returned from a 4 night break and have to say this hotel exceeded my expectations. From arrival, all staff were extremely polite and very accommodating. The room was really lovely, clean, modern and very comfortable. Our room was cleaned everyday, towels changed and beds made. Not an easy task with two messy children. Hotel was located about 20 minutes ride from the centre of Rome. There was a bus stop about a 5 minute walk from the hotel, which charges 1 euro 50 per journey. Considering how lovely this hotel was I feel we had a very good value holiday. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
