    amazing 4 night stay ❤️

    rating10 May 2026

I was obviously concerned at first due to some of the negative reviews left on this hotel however as soon as we arrived the young red haired woman on reception made us feel so welcome ❤️The room was very spacious and modern with a kettle, fridge, and some snacks left out for us. The room was cleaned every day. The location of the hotel is very convenient with shops and restaurants right outside. Breakfast is in the same area as reception and has toast, pastries, biscuits etc. You are also offered coffee/tea. We stayed 4 nights and if we were to come back to Rome we would 100% stay here again❤️

    Wouldn't return!

    rating29 Mar 2026

I would definitely put this as a 2 star. Although the 2 guys we saw were very polite, the room was not clean, you could see the dust on the floor, there was a terrible drain smell in the bathroom, the tiles were were really dirty. "Clean" towels daily although the smell of chip fat on the towels was horrendous! We stayed in the room 103 and there was a hole in the floor right outside our room that's just got a carpet led over it to cover! Only good thing was the polite workers and the location was great!

Room was cancelled without being informed. No alternatives offered, no response to complaints.

    rating12 Mar 2026

I found this hotel online when planning my trip to see the 2026 Six Nations Rugby Union match between Italy and England at the Olympic Stadium on 7th March. The price and location seemed very reasonable for a weekend with this type of event. I booked my hotel room directly via the hotel website on 15th July 2025 and suggested to the other travellers (guests B and C) in my group to do the same. One week before departure, Guest B was contacted via booking.com (where they had made their booking), asking to cancel their booking in exchange for a refund and a goodwill voucher, which they accepted. I was concerned by this so enquired about my own booking, which I was informed by the hotel's front desk that it had been cancelled on the 18th November 2025. I did not authorise this cancellation, nor was I informed. On stating this to the front desk, I was then told that a 'system error' may have been to blame. I then informed Guest C, who had also booked direct through the hotel website and suggested they check their booking. Guest C was informed that their booking was cancelled on 18th November 2025, with "system error" a possible explanation. Follow up and request for remedies:On 2nd March 2026 (the day I discovered the cancellation): I requested that the Catone Distict Hotel, and it's parent group either reinstate my booking, or find suitable accommodation at no extra cost to myself. I did not receive a response from either the hotel or the group. On 3rd March 2026 Given the immediacy of the trip I had no option but to secure alternative accommodation for myself. Guests B and C did the same. I presented the facts of the case (multiple cancellations, inconsistent explanations, multiple guests on same weekend as major sporting event) again to the Hotel Group requesting an explanation. No response was received.Given that the hotel has not responded to my requests, nor to my review of the property, I feel I have no choice but to escalate with consumer protection authorities. My advice to travellers who book here, around major events, is to confirm with the hotel that your booking is still valid, and to make sure you document all communication.

Great hotel fab location unfair bad reviews

    rating14 Feb 2026

Just had a lovely stay here, for the price i dont know how people can complian.. fantastic location very close to Vatican an endless array of shops, restaurants, mini market next door, hospitable staff, clean, quiet, safe... also free wifi.Hotel is positioned in an old graded builing so buzz in & walk through corridor, this is case with most hotels in Rome. Hotel staff accomadating provided us with umberellas one day. Reception area could be laid out better, room was nice very comfortable bed quality matress. View was of adjacant building but was ok, only complaint was bathroom was a bit worn, taps had limescale and wear shower cubicle small, shower wasnt draning properly. Other than that was a brill stay for us will definately be back again and to thus hotel, unfair negative comments. Subway to colosseum 2 mins away 3 euro for 2 ppl

    Worse Hotel experience ever

    rating11 Feb 2026

Rated 1, if I could give zero I would. Pictures look great on booking. How misleading were they. We had book a taxi to pick us up from the airport, this didn’t turn up. When we called the hotel they said they knew nothing about it even though we had a confirmation email. When we finally arrived the night porter had a I don’t care attitude. Got in the room and it smelled of dampness and sewage. There were windows but the were about 4 meters up with black moulded on them and all down the wall. I didn’t have breakfast in the hotel at all due to it being 10 euro’s for a small coffee and a roll which was served in an area that can only be described as a corridor. We paid the tax to to night porter on arrival and asked him for a receipt which we did not receive, they then tried to make us pay again on leaving. Only positive was the location. 2 mins walk from the Vatican City.
