Basic hotel in great location. Don’t expect much more

    rating18 Dec 2025

Paid about US$50 for one night before catching an early morning flight out of Rome. For that price, this hotel is a steal. Not worth it for more than maybe $100.Pros:Excellent location, within steps of the Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, high-end shopping, etcFriendly staffClean enough roomCons:The hotel’s idea of decor seems to be to paint over everything, including, it appears, the shower floorDoor to bathroom is a swinging glass affair that offers zero privacy Only two outlets, that we could find, in the entire room, and neither near the bed.No in-room coffee makerPublic space — entry, front desk, halls and stairs, have all the charm of the city jail. I’m not taking about the small cage elevator. That’s not uncommon in European cities. I’m taking about the fluorescent lighting, dirty carpets, and the smoking area right in the middle of things.

there was no one there on check-in. Had to use a lockbox to get my key card. Contradictory signage..

Decent hotel, good location, but certainly not five stars. There is a sign in the room, saying if you make a review you get a free thing from the mini bar when I ask the staff for my free thing, they told me no such rule exists

    Better hotels elsewhere

    rating03 Jun 2025

We unfortunately spent two nights here. This Hotel is a tiny hole in the wall in the center of Rome. It has about 5 layers of uneven steps to get anywhere, so if you are older than 40, find somewhere else. The antique elevator only goes one floor, and is used by the staff only. No handicap facilities at all. The rooms are minimally accommodating, most of the beds are round, with no where to sit. The shampoo dispenser contained body wash, even though it was labeled shampoo/conditioner. The breakfast is not included and costs €15, not the €10 shown on their website. The staff was nice and it was very very close to all of the tourist spots. But the streets are so crowded with tourists it wasn’t a very pleasant location for our needs, but perhaps for someone who hasn’t been to Europe before, it would be ok. Lavinia ErreZeta, Proprietario at Colonna Suite Del Corso, responded to this review Dear Madam, Thank you for choosing us for your stay in Rome. We are so sad to read your words because thwy don't reflect the reality of our property. We only have 5 steps to reach the elevator that works perfectly and it is used by guests and staff (not ONLY by the staff).Rooms are equipped with all comforts and we only have 4 round beds out of 23 rooms (not all).Inside the dispenser of the shower there is what it is written on the label since they are NOT refillable. Breakfast is a CHOICE at the moment of the reservation: if you reserve it in advance it is included when you arrive, if you don't it is not but you can buy it at the hotel. The amount of people walking around the city center cannot be our fault: we are located between the Pantheon and the Trevi fountain in a secure and calm street for the night and Rome is one of the most loved cities in the world. Please be honest when you write reviews because we are people who work seriously and always welcoming as we have been with you.Best regards

Great location, near Pantheon, Trevi Fountain

    rating12 Apr 2025

Great location, walking distance to many historical sites, café and ristorantes. Our room was small, but just right for sleeping and quiet. Small elevator that fits 4 people that is typical in Europe. Staff was very helpful with luggage. Would stay there again.

Online photos don't reflect actual facility

    rating03 Apr 2025

Do not stay here. The online photos don't match anything I personally saw. Within 5 minutes of walking into the hotel I knew I would be cancelling my reservation. The only signage for the hotel were a couple pieces of paper taped to the door and walls pointing the direction of the lobby. The elevator was a small metal cage that we didn't feel comfortable using so we had to carry heavy luggage up several flights of stairs. The lobby was full of other people's luggage, none of it was secured. Another group of guests left their passports on the top of the counter, which the staff left there. Eventually the passports were moved to 2 other places behind the counter but still not put in a secure location. Liquor bottles are kept on open shelves for anyone (kids?) to take. I asked to use the bathroom off the lobby, there was an open door to the left of the bathroom. I believe the room may have been a kitchen, but I was distracted by the wet towels on the floor and dirty walls. Before actually checking in I asked to see the room we would be staying in. It was right off a stairway, not secure and the decor looked like it was from the 1970's and there was a really strong fragrance piped into the room that was overwhelming. I asked to cancel my reservation but was still required to pay the first nights (2 reservations for 3 people then 2 people) which I'm fighting to get back. The only reason I originally paid it was because I was worried they'd charge be for the entire stay if I didn't. We then had to quickly find a new place to stay which was extremely stressful. I'm 58 years old, my first trip to Italy and I arrived at this place - I could hardly contain the tears. Lavinia ErreZeta, Proprietario at Colonna Suite Del Corso, responded to this review Dear Navigator,We are shocked about your review. Fortunately it is enough to look at so many verified reviews of people who actually stayed at our hotel on Expedia.com and booking.com to understand that what you have written doesn't reflect the reality of our property.Of course you can dislike it but this is too much.Best regards
