    A Wonderful 70th Birthday Present

    rating27 Apr 2026

We booked our 10 day holiday in Rome through Hays Travel. Hays found the Demetra Hotel, which was close to the main train termini. It was a great location with fantastic access to lovely restaurants and public transport. We were booked into a Superior room (very like a Premier Plus) which was very clean and suited our needs. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Breakfast was sufficient. We were impressed that even on a busy road, there was no noise disturbance. Our only criticism, not 100% sure if it was the mattress, but Steve experienced back issues after a few nights! We really loved the Hotel, and would use it again when we next visit Rome.

Quirky small hotel in good location...but not 4*!

    rating14 Mar 2026

Stayed here due to original hotel being overbooked with easyJet. It has good location near Termini but can be noisy due to overlooking one way road. Hotel is built within side of larger building shared with another hotel so very small layout over 2 floors. Stairs up to reception then going down to small lounge area, breakfast room & down further to rooms 101 to 103 that are above a separate street level Trattoria. Room 102 was ok except very strong sewerage smell in bathroom especially during the night. Others have commented on the lack of room tea/coffee but you get it from reception on request as per photo. Would not stay again out of choice.Staff very friendly and a very good breakfast selection with barista coffee made to order.

Worst stay ever & will never come back

I'm staying here now & the noise from outside is horrendous, room 101 absolute joke, no air-conditioning is working. Would not recommend this hotel & will never return to this hotel, worst stay in Italy ever.

    Do not waste your time!

This was my second time to Rome and I was so disappointed with my stay here. The location is good for being close to the station but everything is a 20-50 minute walk away (we didn’t mind this) We got there and were put in the room right outside reception- it was so noisy, I could hear everything (and I mean everything) from the reception desk and it was impossible to sleep. The hotel had turned the air conditioning off and we had to ask for it to be turned on. The shower was horrendous, water pressure was a small trickle. I’ve never had such a bad nights sleep, it was so poor I had to go to the pharmacy to buy melatonin just to get through the night. This was marketed as a 4 star hotel- it’s more like a low 3, the beds and pillows were very uncomfortable, there were no tea or coffee making facilities, I think this was expensive for what it was and not good value for money. Breakfast was okay for Italy, food was nice but just a small selection but to be expected for a smaller hotel. The hotel was generally clean and was cleaned everyday. Just book an Airbnb instead!

    Rome break

    rating16 Feb 2026

A great hotel. The staff were helpful and friendly, always lovely and clean when we got back after a long day out. The breakfast was good, and always a good choice every morning. We found it was an easy walk from the train station, and lots to see and do around the area. There were some some good eateries close by with very friendly staff. Would definitely use this hotel again.
