    Positive experience overall. Excellent location near Termini rail station. Solid breakfast with many Italian and European cuisine choices. Friendly and efficient staff. Easy to deal with in English.

    Hotel Basilica was very convenient to sightsee Rome. Across the street are some good cafes, pizza places to get a Spritz and shops. I highly recommend it!

    The biggest selling point for this hotel is how close it is to Roma Termini train station, around a 10-minute walk including waiting for lights to cross the street. The room is larger than many we've had in Rome on previous visits, and the shower is normal size instead of the phone booth in many Italian hotels. Breakfast was better than many three-star hotels with all the pastries and cold cuts you'd expect, as well as scrambled eggs and fresh made espresso. The room had plenty of outlets to charge things. The front desk is always staffed, they were friendly, and everyone at the hotel seemed to speak English. From my small sampling of language I overheard it appears that many of the people that stay here are actual Italians, buttressed by noting the official hotel website does not have an English version.The hotel has two portions, a main building where the front desk is and then a second building across a courtyard. It was a surprise to see such a big courtyard in the heart of Rome! We were staying in the second building which overlooks Via Urbana. It is a busy and noisy street. You may want to request a room in the main building since they have windows opening onto the courtyard which would be much quieter.

    The room was good and the air conditioning was amazing. The reception is staffed 24/7 with is good. The only thing that was disappointing was that we asked if we had booked with the breakfast included and they said yes, but then we was charged for it again when we checked out. Also we had to pay a tourist tax to the hotel. Witch I understand and don’t mind doing. But we were not informed prior to arriving. There is no information about this on booking.com. Witch is very disappointing.

    We had a lovely stay here. The location is convenient and walkable to Roma Termini and the Colosseum. The staff were pleasant. The room was very comfortable, clean, and we loved the interior design which had traditional paintings and tiled floors.
