A historic hotel in an area of beautiful surroundings.

    rating19 May 2026

Stayed here through booking with on the beach. In all the hotels an old monastery with the most beautiful working church in between it. The hotel itself well it’s not 5star if you want something different and interesting this is the place we stayed on the fourth floor overlooking the plaza. Tip, if you want a good nights sleep in the summer you’re not going to get it the road is busy 24/7. Request a room at the back. The room it self was basic to single beds usual furniture it does have A/C but noisy at night. En-suite was ok. Excellent water pressure in shower. The bonus was the view from the window. There’s no bar in the hotel but you can byo drink and drink up on the rooftop terrace. The view from there is amazing. Breakfast was a let down. I know continental is for some, it’s extremely basic. Sweet cakes and croissants bread that wasn’t the freshest but a toaster there to remedy it. Yoghurt, cereals, cold meat and cheese. You have breakfast juices and tea or coffee from a machine. Nothing warm as in scrambled or boiled eggs. The staff are fantastic so friendly and helpful. It’s a 30 min walk to the colosseum. Tip if you come out of the hotel turn left theres a metro line 5 mins walk it will take you through Rome on the under ground. It’s 9 stops to St Peter’s square if walking it’s an hour give or take on the metro literally a 10 minute journey. It stops close to all the major sites. Anyone doing the colosseum when you finish walk the extra few minutes to della Vitoria or known as the wedding cake the view over the Roman forum are spectacular. Food, do try Italian food across the from the hotel are some excellent restaurants. Over all yes I’d stay again as you’re staying in a historic building. Minutes from termini rail station.

Not energetically healthy and no comfort

    rating04 Apr 2026

My partner and I had an 8-night stay booked at this hotel, but could not stay for 1 night. It was cold, miserable, smelt damp and felt 'bad' - in fact, it was so bad we checked out and left. The room was bare and basic, with 2 what I would call old conference chairs in the room. The mattress was thin and very hard & that was just from sitting on it. The walls were marked, and the whole place could do with a spruce up, and please read I was not expecting luxury for the price - I was expecting comfort Now I pick up on energy, and it felt wrong & I knew it was an old monastery before I booked it, and it was a great price, and that did not keep me there Maybe you will like it - I didn't The reception staff were great & helpful, and not their fault at all I can't write about the location as we didn't stay long enough - I literally could not wait to leave, even if it was going to cost me more money to find another hotel

This place is full of culture, rooms a little dated but acceptable for what we wanted. Staff on reception were brilliant, every one of them! Only let down was the breakfast, stale bread but again the staff were good

History over Hilton for me any day

    rating15 Mar 2026

If you want modern rooms with coffee machines and big screen tv’s then stay at the Hilton. If you want to stay in an amazing building that’s multi centuries old then this is for you. We got the train from the airport and it was a 15/20 minute walk to the hotel which was fine. The room was good. Everything we needed as if you are coming to Rome to stay in the room then you’re at the wrong place. The beds were comfy enough, the safe worked, the bathroom was in decent condition, a working hairdryer and the shower was hot and powerful enough.Breakfast in the morning was enough to get you going. Fresh pastries, coffee and cereal served by the staff and you could have as much as you wanted. The staff were very helpful and very friendly and reception was staffed 24/7. Location of the hotel was great … a 20/30 minute walk to the colosseum or trevi. Found a couple of supermarkets nearby to get some drinks and bits for the room and there were some ok restaurants nearby but we found better 10/15 mins up the road. The added bonus of the Basillica next door with its relics and artwork was a bonus and shouldn’t be missed either.A really really good hotel … Grazie Mille
