    Worst ever hotel experience

    rating20 May 2026

Our stay at the Garner Rome Aurelia was literally the WORST and most bizarre hotel experience of my lifetime. No exaggeration. From the simple inability to benefit from my Diamond Elite status benefits, to the incredibly incompetent and sour puss checking, the lack of air conditioning, and then the incredibly rude and almost comical checkout from Riccardo who accused me of not paying the bill even though I showed evidence of payment through the Chase travel portal. And then harassed me because I left my room key in the room for check out. The hotel rooms and bathroom are also tiny and it’s on a noisy busy road outside the main attractions of Rome. AVOID at all cost.

Nice hotel and even nicer staff!!!

    rating16 Apr 2026

My daughter and I stayed here for 3 nights. It is outside the central location but you can easily get a taxi to get into central Rome. Very friendly staff. Room was very spacious and comfortable. There are USB ports near the bed which is very convenient. They have good breakfast. They offer laundry services as well. There is a restaurant as well in the property that you can order food from anytime. There are some restaurants in the walking distance. Also there is a minimart nearby for buying any snacks or water bottles. One thing I want to mention is getting a taxi to the central Rome is very easy and the hotel can arrange that. But sometimes the taxi back could be a struggle as some drivers seem to avoid it as they have to move away from the central location. One day I was able to get a taxi easily and the 2nd day, it was hard. Again it could be just my experience. Besides this, we had a great time at this place. I would stay here again.

    Exceptional Hotel

    rating14 Jan 2026

I have been a IHG member for over 25 years. This is the best IHG property I have stayed in. This is an authentic Roman experience. The quality of the hotel, rooms and staff is exceptional. The bus and metro are very close. The many restaurants nearby are excellent. 15 minutes via bus to the Vatican and 30 minutes to the other attractions in town. NOT a tourist area. Very authentic Rome. Highly recommend this property.

Pray Hard for a Quiet Room

    rating28 Nov 2025

Super noisy room by the busy street with poor noise insulation treatment to the glass door and the windows. It is just the guest's bad luck to stay at the hotel and there is nothing the hotel can do. Asked to change the room after a sleepless first night, the hotel changed the room from the first floor to the second floor, still next to the busy street!!! Unbelievable!Just bad.
