    An ok experience

    rating17 May 2026

Stayed at this hotel as part of a 4 day trip to Rome and overall we were content. The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful, all speaking excellent English. The communications received before our stay were good too, arranging a transfer from the airport for us that got us to the hotel from Ciampino airport in around half an hour. We were able to check in and access our room and hour earlier than the normal check in time which was good. Our room was a “Double Classic”, not the smallest they offer, but it was still pretty small with limited storage for our things. We were around the side of the hotel though, so it was relatively quiet apart from some noisy neighbours above us on the last night who were talking loudly and moving furniture loudly at midnight, and then again at 5.30am. We didn’t use the minibar, but prices were reasonable. A kettle and some tea/coffee were provided but no milk/whitener. There were a few toiletries offered in the bathroom. I didn’t really feel it was value for money to be honest, compared to other big cities we had been to.Breakfast was taken in the attached Restaurant Petrucci and we had no complaints about that, it was well presented and good quality, a range of items that set you up for the day. We did eat in the restaurant one evening and whilst the food was really good, the service was very lacking. It took ten minutes before we were offered a menu after being seated and getting the bill and paying took an age. The staff were very busy, presumably there wasn’t enough of them. We ate out other evenings and there are plenty of places within 5/10 minutes’ walk.We used the small hotel bar a couple of times, but it was stuck at the rear of the building with limited seating and was not staffed so you had to ask at reception for them to come and serve you. Prices were good value. It was disappointing to sit there one early evening though as the cleaner decided to vacuum up around us – quite an unpleasant experience. The location is good, just away from the main sights but handy for the Forum, Colosseum, Termini Station and no more than 10 minutes or so walk to the Trevi Fountain and then onto the Pantheon and Piazza Navona area. The hotel is on a steep hill though, and you had to walk back up it to get to it at the end of each day from whichever direction you'd been so be warned.Would we stay here again? Probably not to be honest. The staff were lovely, but it just didn’t tick enough boxes for us and I suspect there are better value and slightly better locations available with hotels with better communal areas where you could go to to relax at the end of a busy, tiring day in the area.

    Great Hotel and Staff

    rating16 May 2026

Our first time in Rome and Hotel Hiberia did not disappoint! We arrived earlier than our check in time. Staff stored our luggage so we could go get something to eat. When we returned our room was ready and our luggage was in our rooms. From the awesome welcome we received to the fantastic room service we will stay here again in the future. They give you a map of the city when you arrive. It was so helpful getting around Rome. Everything was within walking distance of the hotel.

    Absolutely perfect hotel

The hotel Hiberia is perfect in every way for a city break in Rome. It's in an excellent location, only 6 minutes from Trevi fountain and within walking distance of all the main sights. The rooms are very clean, comfortable and the staff are brilliant. Rafael and Marco are just so friendly, helpful and informative, as are all the staff. Breakfast in the adjoining restaurant was perfect for an adequate meal before a day out.

A fantastic hotel in a most amazing location. All you could need and more.

If you are looking for a hotel that is as central to everything in the city as possible, then this is it. If you are looking for a comfortable place to rest your head at night whilst recovering from an exhausting day walking around the amazing sights and history that the eternal city has to offer, then this is your place. We stayed as two couples in two double rooms for four nights and it was everything we needed. The included breakfast was lovely. The bed large and comfortable. The rooms clean and sufficient. I must also give extra special mention to Stefano and Patrick at the concierge desk. So pleasant and welcoming and nothing too much trouble, even when we requested to change rooms after our first night. They were so knowledgeable and passionate about their wonderful city, highlighting places of obvious interest as well as recommending areas less well known but just as beautiful, including local traditional tavernas. They were a credit to the hotel and made our stay just perfect. We plan to return. Thank you.
