    Worse experience

Not worth it. Rooms have rot smell. If you order two separate beds they provide one big size bed.3 star hotel maximum Hotel Farnese, Direttore generale at Hotel Farnese, responded to this review Goodmorning, we are sorry you did not enjoy your experience with us. By the way, we necessary have to make an important notice for our readers. for example our rooms, absolutely they DO NOT HAVE rot smell, it doesn't make any sense... Also we have to say, the guests reserved through an external online travel agency (passing reservations to other online travel agencies), which did not inform hotel about the debs type. The double bed is the most required from the guests so if it is not specified previously (such as this time), twins beds are not mandatory; we also gave to the guest alternative valid solutions but they refused. the icing on the cake, the guests were totally and unjustifiably rude with the staff during their stay.we highly recommend them to make reservations directly with hotels for next time and to make sure about what they reserve; a polite manner would be appreciated anyway

    Must stay

    rating04 Oct 2025

A beautiful boutique experience. When I arrived at the hotel I quickly realized I had booked for 2026 vs 2025. Leonardo at the front desk was so kind and found me the last available room. He apologized profusely that it was in the basement...long story short...the room was fit for a queen. In the morning had a delightful breakfast with a magnificent view. This is a must stay boutique hotel.

Honest business good hotel with comfy furnitures

    rating30 Mar 2025

Very convenient and close to metro. Room is clean and high ceiling. Furniture and appliances are well maintained. The service is swift and amicable which is very different from other hotels around here. My standard room comes with a balcony with a street view. It is nice to wake up in the morning to see it. I will choose here and rebook next time.

    Familiar atmosphere

Nice hotel close to Lepanto metro station, characterized by a warm and “retro” atmosphere and very welcoming owner and staff. The room was clean and well prepared and the breakfast with the view was pleasant and satisfying. We will be back for sure!

Needs modernisation to be a 4* hotel

    rating27 Nov 2024

Sadly, this hotel has seen better days. The exterior is lovely and it's in a really great location: near the metro, near the river, in a smart neighbourhood that's a bit less touristy, not too far from the Vatican etc, lots of good restaurants nearby. The staff are friendly too. Even though it's on the corner of a main road, it wasn't that noisy. If it were a 3* hotel I'd say 'it's a bit basic but fine for a short stay'. As a 4* hotel it needs to modernise and upgrade. The building was clean (I think) but it didn't look it. The shower in my room was clean but old and crusty, and it leaked. The hot water got lukewarm fairly quickly. There was no duvet on the bed, just a sheet and a very old-looking bedspread that I wouldn't have wanted to sleep under, had the room not been so cold. The mattress was very lumpy. The light switches didn't all work; the magnetic stripe on the key card was stuck on with sellotape. The breakfast was very poor quality - barely anything looked fresh or appetising. (It's an old building so the insulation isn't great, but that's to be expected.)All in all, if you go in summer, don't plan to spend much time in your hotel and aren't a breakfast person, it's probably fine. It wouldn't cost that much to make it a far nicer place to stay, though.
